This has happened for so long and is what is keeping me from using Firefox, making me want to uninstall it sometimes.

Most people don't leave their Volume Mixer open, but some do, and I rely on it quite a lot. Wasn't too much of an issue because it only happened when I used Firefox. Recently.. Starting some several months ago maybe even a year. Firefox will now create instances in the Mixer even without launching it. I haven't used it in weeks and yet every day there's more instances in my mixer.

Recently, sites that use semi-colons instead of ampersands in their URLs have stopped working in Firefox 99.0.1 for me.

I suspect an add-on may have been recently updated, since those sites still work when I run them in a new private window. Is there an easy way to track down which add-on might be rewriting the URL?

Hello, I have a problem, Firefox has stopped loading, it gives this message "Couldn't load XPCOM" I have tried to make another profile, I have deleted the folders I have reinstalled... but it continues to give the error. Thank you.

I am working an open source dictionary project for a language that isn't yet listed on https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/language-tools/ Specifically it is the Ladino (Judeo-Espanyol) language using the Latin abc, though the specific language probably does not matter.

I would like to be able to create the necessary files to make it easy for others to install and use this add-on. (and get it listed on that page) I would also like to be able to try it in my browser (running on Linux btw) before I submit it to Mozilla.

If I understand it correctly first I need to create the .dic and .aff files used by hunspell. I've done this. I can use the spell-checker on the command line.

Is that correct? What now? How do I package these files so I can install them locally? How do I submit it to Mozilla? And a bit later: how will I be able to update the version served by Mozilla?

I hate your new email address blocker!! All I want is for you to turn it off. I was using Firefox 100% of the time till you started blocking me from entering email address, I use Firefox for work and some times I have to enter clients email address into forms and your new blocker won't let me enter them. So, I have to log out of Firefox and open Google Chrome to be able to fill out the forms where I have to enter clients email address. Please either discontinue the use of this blocker or tell me how to turn it off OR I will have to start using Google Chrome 100% of the time.

I teach a college course online at Foothill College, and I am unable to see my Zoom account. I can see it on Google Chrome, but I prefer working in Firefox. Can you problem solve this issue?

on my Win10 64b system the FF browser keeps the tabs visible after the last 99.0.1 update. i didn't make any changes to the browser after that update that i can recall. thx!

It's hard to be polite because of my major frustration with these issues which have been going on way to long...almost a year. It started with an "upgrade"....went backwards not forward in function...when certain emails from places I've subscribed to came thru with no images, just verbal highlights. Clicking on those links to read more ended up with the New Tab thing moving back and forth forever and then I get the note "Secure Connection Failed:PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR. It did this, the first time, for almost two months and then suddenly cured itself. Next time an upgrade happened I was back to square one. Time line for self fix was a bit shorter, but well over a month. Ditto several more times. I did all the looking and reading and nothing offered helped resolve this issue. More recently...the last month or so...I get ZERO images on incoming emails, regardless who, what, when sends them. For instance, I got a poster, announcing an upcoming art show. I got nothing but blank boxes. Having had this issue with other emails, I've learned that I have to create a forwarded email in order to see any images. I'm still dealing with the inability to open articles, web sites, etc, from and email or other site I'm looking at that may have something of interest. I'm about to pull the plug on FoxFire if this keeps up!!!!

I seemed to try everything I found at the net, but since I updated to Mac OS Monterey, Chinese and other non Latin Charaters don't show up. It works with Chrome and Safari, What's the problem.

Hello, I listed this is the "Other" section because it involves more than just installation of Firefox. I am using version 97.0.2 and will be installing the most current version within a day or so. I have NO issues with the current version, nor expect any with any future updates I install. With that being stated I will ask my question...

I have a CCTV setup at my home that have the feature of web remote viewing and control. I don't use any other browser other than Firefox...have uninstalled both IE11 and Edge, blocking Edge from being reinstalled. I can NOT use the CCTVs remote web feature because their software is out-dated and I suspect unsupported any longer. I have already downloaded and installed the Firefox required web plug-in but the version of Firefox is TOO NEW. The Software suggested that I install an older version of the 32-Bit Firefox, version 56 or 57 if my memory is correct...

I current Firefox is 64-Bit, installed on the C Drive. Can I install a second Firefox, 32-Bit on perhaps my D or E Drive without corrupting my 64-Bit install and profile? I understand that doing so, and using the older version then there would be a security issue fore prolonged browsing. But, when using this older version to access my CCTV...once done, I would no longer browse with that older version of Firefox. A temporary and quick solution. A 10 minute browsing in a once in a great while exception.

Your feedback and support would be greatly appreciated?

From a folder, I have loads of Firefox profiles from different eras. I am looking for a way to export all the bookmarks of each of the profiles to an HTML file like the manual method (Library > Import and backup > Export bookmarks to formal HTML), but all in an automatic way by script. I like the HTML export from Firefox because it allows you to quickly navigate using keywords, either in links or in the folder names I gave.

Is there a simple solution that would reuse, for example, the same export code as Firefox ?

Hello. I am writing because I have used the blog/search, and the answers do not work. I am trying to ascertain how to:

I. Ensure Javascript is on. (The blog told me to type settings.config directly into the address bar.)

II. Type a web address in and go to it directly rather than having it always search via the preferred search engine (DuckDuckGo). It offers me every option in the Awesome Bar drop down menu (Facebook, Google, Wikipedia, etc.) except going directly to a website. I have already tried turning off the default, "Use the address bar for search and navigation," and switched to "Add searchbar in toolbar." Both still automatically search with DuckDuckGo and do not give any option to go directly to a website. This is incredibly frustrating! I don't want Awesome Bar; I just want an IP bar. What happened to plain old-fashioned Internet browsing, please?

Thank you for advising. I cannot contact Harvard IT about their website requiring Javascript until I ensure that Javascript is enabled.

I've been trying to open Weather Underground with Firefox using my new Macbook Pro (Monterey 12.3.1). The site pops up momentarily and then automatically jumps to a blank white screen. I could open it with Firefox on my old Macbook air and never had this problem. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I run windows 11 on my laptop. Whenever my laptop goes in sleep mode, all Firefox tabs closes automatically for no reason! and when I open it again a button appears saying (Restore old session) I need it Firefox to stay opened when the laptop goes to sleep. Hello, today i installed metamask and set up many accounts. Roughly 10 hours later my metamask just crashed and disappeared from my extension toolbar bar. I restarted firefox to see if the problem would be fixed and the add on was still missing from the toolbar. I went into the add ons and themes settings and it was not installed to my surprise. I selected install and now it doesn't recognize my old wallet. I am certain it is the add on. I have the seed phrase, however from my understanding not all accounts appear when reentering the seed phrase. I am not sure what else to do in order to restore all of my old accounts attache to this seedphrase.

Why is this happening in firefox? Will it happen again if i continue to use firefox with metamask?

When newest FF version opens, it cannot see any of the data that is in each of my three older profiles. I've switched to each one and each one appears empty with the new version. Is there some new step to take in this version when switching profiles? How to bring an older version of Firefox and older profiles from Backup to replace what's now unworkable... and regain my important data? Thank you for your timely, much needed help.
