Despite following the instructions ,I am unable to clear my browsing history. Every time I click on to "clear history," nothing happens. I am afraid to re-install the browser because my wife also has an account on the same PC and I do not want to delete here bookmarks etc.

Since the latest update on 16/01, my search bar history has just not functioned at all.

Remember history is still ticked, however there is no autofill, and no sites are populating in shortcuts unless i add them manually. Basically history is not saving as it should.

I've checked all my settings but there doesn't seem to be anything amiss.

When I restarted my Windows 10 computer, the activity bar and all my history disappeared.

It was working perfectly this morning.

Any ideas?

This is the second computer in the last two weeks that has done this to me.

My search history is clogged with repetitions of the same search. For example I log onto my bank account and the search history shows 15 plus or minus entries. It also happens with other sites i visit often. I searched the internet about "history" and It was suggested that is check extensions and remove them. Then Just today my bank sign-in icon was gone. Sorry Im not always using the correct terminolgy.

I noticed that in the last few months (maybe longer) the windows which were open before Firefox was shut down no longer open up in the same order after Firefox is restarted and 'History > Restore previous session' is selected (I want me to decide whether windows and tabs are re-opened after a Firefox restart, so I don't know if the same problem happens when the setting "Open previous windows and tabs" is selected).

This has been a problem a long(er) time ago, then it worked fine again, and now it happens again.

This might not seam like a big problem but I open new Firefox windows for each 'topic' I want to browse plus the first couple of windows are 'dedicated' to specific things.

But when the windows are 'out of the correct order' I can't just find things the (for me) usual place or windows opened for specific topics- and that is quite annoying. That is the background for this post.

I'm using Windows 11 version 25H2, and my Firefox is up to date (147.0.2)

I hope there are some Mozilla employees working with Firefox in this community (as they have the most 'inside knowledge', but I would of course very much also hear about experiences and ideas regarding this from other Firefox users :-)

I've tried saving in an active private window, but no success. Testing in Firefox private window local programing errors. Clean-slate avoid past incorrect memory errors.

On closing down firefox. My browsing history still remains.I have all the boxes ticked that need to be ticked to perform this.Settings also are all ticked and saved. it was all working fine 2 days ago. came back ontoday and stopped working. can any one help. Also my firefox icon/tile/shortcut in my taskbar has changed from firefox icon to being a white folder with top right coner folded over.Anyone have any ideas whats going on.

Hello Mozilla,

I am about to trash Firefox ... an app that I have used for years, but in the past few weeks it has become an item of frustration.

I have the lastest version which in itself works great but recently cannot remember settings from session to session. I have reviewed comments on the subject but cannot find a solution.

Help please ... or it will be trashed within the week.

Ive had Firefox for many years, and am pretty ok versed in it's options and tools. Since a couple weeks my history is completely gone. It also won't record anything new. Im not in safe mode, not incognito mode, all the settings appear correct, yet still, won't record anything. Please help

Hallo, wie kann ich verhindern das mozilla für kürzlich gechlossene Tab`s eine Chronik anlegt? kann ich den Menüpunkt in der Chronik "Kürzlich geschlossene Tabs" deaktivieren?
