Help! I updated my account to a new email months ago. I have been trying to set up a new different profile. Copying a profile or trying to add a profile adds the newly made profile to my old email address instead of my new email address. In the new profiles created, I am unable to login to my new email and password.

When I click on a link in outlook recently, I have been getting an seperate firefox pop up but it has none of my passwords. How do i set up to have all the info as the regular firefox browser I use.

Been using Firefox for 20+years in poway, ca now in Oregon City, somehow I ended up with 3 profiles, I would like to merge at least the bookmarks and delete 2 To stop confusion, thanks Ralph Kirn

Out of nowhere today I encountered with Firefox seemingly crashing. My laptop said it needed to reboot. Once rebooted I began to get the missing/inaccessible profile error. I tried to uninstall / reinstall but continue to get the error. When I search through for the missing profile per all guidance and troubleshooting Windows says it's not found. When I use the "run" it doesn't bring me to a folder but to a notepad type screen (copy paste below). I do not see where I have any options. Would it be effective to just delete all Mozilla from my laptop? I uninstalled / reinstalled but same error.

After closing Firefox, I often get a message for "creating a new profile". It seems difficult to do this and it would be very helpful to have a link where this can be easily done. Thanks for all your help. Alok Bhargava [edited email from community support forum]

Recently a tiny icon of an empty shopping cart has been superimposed at the top right-hand corner of the Firefox icon in my system tray. I want to get rid of it. In addition, just in the last few days, I'm being asked to choose among profiles when I sign onto Firefox and I want to have only one default profile and to avoid that extra step in signing on.

i am unable to open a specific profile as i want its always taking me to last profile i used .I tried getting help from AI chat bots and made a short cut for a profile but at the end even its opening the last profile i opened.

My Firefox had auto updated to the newer version with AI built-in and auto-enabled, which meant the browser would crash EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. I would launch it.

For perspective, I am running an old Lenovo Thinkcentre mini PC with an Intel i5 6th gen and 16gb of ram; its got Windows 11 installed, and always running out of memory with the simple things like browsing and word processing. This is NOT a PC or use-case that needs or warrants AI.

So, I uninstalled Firefox (149) and installed the latest version WITHOUT AI built-in (147).

I then synced my profile, and things ran fine. An hour passed, and then i kept getting an error, saying my profile was created with whatever and I need to create a new profile.

So, I created a new profile and synced, again, and I got the error, AGAIN...

I'm about to boycott Firefox on all the devices I control, and opt for an older version of Opera or something more obscure, so that I don't have to deal with this nonsense.

At some point recently, a 'Profiles tab has appeared in my menu bar. Presumably this arrived during an update. I don't want it, keep accidentally clicking on it instead of bookmarks & want it gone. How do I remove it?

Today I got on my laptop and opened Firefox like I do every day. The browser looked different. It was an ugly purple color. A window showed me information about 'Profiles'. I didn't want any 'Profiles', I just wanted my regular Firefox Browser. So I deleted the Profiles. This also ended up deleting all of my bookmarks and passwords!! It took the last two hours and working with AI to recover my most recent backup which was two years old. Firefox hasn't been backing up any of my data that I actually need, and it actively deleted the things I rely on. Your devs and designers really messed up on this one. I bet no one uses Profiles, but everyone uses passwords and bookmarks to some degree. Why would you build it like that?! Shame, Mozilla. This was a serious error on your part. Bad product design. Make it easier to back up the things we need. Get rid of this useless 'Profiles' function that I bet no one uses.

when i am in my browser how can i tell which email account this is for. i have two profiles each with a different email account, i want to able to see which one my current browser is tied to.

Some day not so long ago, while I was busy with something else, something happened and I was asked to choose or create a profile. Since then nothing seems to be as I am used to during several years of Mozilla Firefox use, so I want to ask where have all my bookmarks and passwords gone? If it's because of the introduction of something called AI, then please let me rely on my own I. I don't trust the "A" version!

As the title says, when i go to about:support, and click the open profile folder, i wanted to install a customization to allow me to edit the default tab background, but for some reason i do not have admin privileges in that folder, i can't access anything, i can't edit anything nor create a new folder, even rename it. It says that my own computer does not have admin privileges inside that folder.

The topic chosen is the best of a 'bad' list.

I have started using the Multiple Profiles feature in Firefox.

If I have two instances of Firefox running and I open the Bookmark Manager in both instances there is no obvious indicator as to which Firefox instance a Bookmark Manager belongs.

I have currently created a folder within the Bookmarks Menu folder that has been given the same name as the profile. Is there a better way?
