When I go into Privacy & Settings, then cookies & site data, I uncheck the box for cookies & site data. It doesn't save. Next time I go in it is checked again. How do I get this setting to save? I'm using Windows 10, Firefox 124.0.2.

I am very surprised and somewhat disappointed that the Password manager protection does not sync across devices. I refer to thread:"Firefox Primary Password is different on my 2 PC's" in the archived Q&A section.

I love the Password manager and this is my main source to keep track of the 1000's of passwords we have to have to operate nowadays and they are easily accessible. It was always my issue that I felt they were very vulnerable as I had not turned on the Password protection due to bad past experience with not properly understanding the feature at first and being locked out of all my passwords or so it felt. I have now re-established this option and feel more secure(maybe foolishly). But, I believe there is a serious security flaw in Mozilla. I can understand that you offer the option to have different password on a per device basis. However I feel the implementation of this is very dangerous and can inadvertently expose all my passwords without my consent.

When I opened my new computer, I did set-up Firefox as my primary browser and enabled Syncing data. I made the foolish assumption that Syncing my password would offer me the same protection as the one I have on my main PC. I was surprised not to be asked for my main password when opening the browser nor do I recall been asked to set-up one new one for the new machine.

If my profile says that I want my passwords to be protected, I would at minima force the same default on any new browser install and require either authorization and / or verification from the original or another previously registered device before sharing the passwords. Passwords should be protected by default as defined i my profile. Otherwise, if my Firefox account is compromised, I will automatically expose all my passwords to anyone.

I do not recall, because I do not install Firefox everyday, but on my Android device, I was not asked whether I wanted to protect my passwords or not. They were by default or so it felt. Yes, they do not use my main password, they rely on my bio-metric info. So, there is a basic layer of protection. Why not in Windows?

I would like to change my password for Mozilla Firefox account. I am doing so because I have been notified of a password security breach. However, upon signing into my account via https://accounts.firefox.com/signin (it doesn't matter which device), I cannot change my password with the new one without the red-colored incorrect password window popping up. I know my signin is correct because I have just signed in using it. Whats the problem guys?

We are attempting to disable DNS over HTTPS by pushing a configuration profile from JAMF Pro. The profile completes successfully and shows it is disabled, but Firefox will still show it is enabled. Has anyone else encountered this? We are using our own DNS Resolvers and need to not have Firefox force theirs. BTW, in order to avoid confusion, this is specific to MAC OS machines only. Thank you!

The provided solution isn't enough (in my case, the certificate was already there, although there were intermediate certificates without websites allowed - I added that trust, as well as imported more corporate root certificates but I'm not sure any of this was necessary).

Anyway, many web pages didn't work, as all http requests beyond the original one were redirected through zscaler proxy 2-factor auth. All js, css, images came back with a 307 and the corporate authentication page, immediately followed by a call to the redirection, coming back as 200 ... but with the same auth page. I saw that the original request (the base html) was always sent with "ssm_au_c" cookie but page resource requests were not.

I did solve the issue. I had to change the tracking protection options from "Standard" to "Custom" and uncheck "Cookies". Now everything works.

I don't really need an answer but, as others may have the issue and I can't post in the original thread (which is archived), I figured that I should post it somewhere. However, if there is a way to keep tracking protection in place and only add an exception for ZScaler, that'd be great. Adding "zscalerthree.net" in the exceptions didn't do the trick.

I have a bunch of stuff on my LAN, all with static IPs (so I can find things). New Reolink security camera can't be accessed via a browser and it's static IP.

Am I truly unable to have access to my own LAN? There has to be a way around this, doesn't there?

I go to about:memory > Save memory reports - Measure and save and then view the output, a report called memory-report.json.

In this report I see approximately 30 blocks of text, each of which contains approximately 50 to 100 website URLs. Several blocks contain only porn URLs. I have viewed porn, but only in Google Images; I don't visit the websites.

Why is this information being stored by Firefox?

Note: my Firefox is set to Delete cookies and site data when Firefox is closed. However, even after closing and opening Firefox, all the information is still in the report.

Hi, Firstly I apologize because I'm not very tech savvy. My firefox browser has been taking ages to load. I've tried various 'fixes' over the last week or so and they don't work for long. I'm going down the 'try this' list and am at the 'clear junk in manage data' suggestion. Someone else had success with getting rid of a load of youtube saved junk. I'm in the Cookie and Site Data area, it says it's using 793mb of disc space yet when I tap on 'manage data' to try and clear stuff that area shows up as empty. I've searched but can't locate how to fix this issue. Or I might be missing something completely obvious. :/

My memory, and health, is not great so if possible I really don't want to resort to clearing everything and having to re-add log ins etc.

Does anyone know how to fix this please?

Installed FF yesterday to give it a try. Today I was on a trusted page when the download window popped up showing me what you see below. I was on a trusted website and there was nothing clicked to download and this wasn't expected. It's an executable file claiming to be from Zoom.com. I wasn't on their website either.

Is the legitimate, something that FF wanted to add to use Zoom from within the browser?

I spoke to BT who proved that Firefox and not Edge was the problem and there is a need to know how to remove entries which appear under the Firefox through either Autofill or Autosave or finally Autopopulate. This need arises from a problem which has arisen under username entry and which cannot be permanently removed.

I need some advice on how to resolve this problem!

Hi I have been using firefox on linux for a while without updating it. We are artsellers and I used to be able to log in and out of an artplatform without any problems. It's now been a few weeks since logging out is not possible any more on this platform which means that I am constantly logged in which I really do not want. The menu does not work anymore on this side whereas it works with other browers. I already contacted the platform. They cannot do anything about it themselves and asked me to contact your team. Having tried all pointers to how to display this data, I give up and present my case here: In a banking app, the login field is blank and requires me to enter the correct Login ID. This works fine. However, if I double click on that field, an option is displayed, happening to be my email address, which will not work in this case; a numeric value is required.

So, knowing a prompt is enabled, I have entirely failed to get 'it' to save the correct ID. I have also find a place in Firefox settings where I can see and modify the value that comes up. I do however remember doing exactly that for some other site.

So, as I have said, I cannot find this in the Passwords nor the Settings pages. What am I missing?

Help would be much appreciated.

If I delete my history of the websites I go on is there a way to either restore it or store it some place else in case I want to see it at a future time? Can I also do it If I delete my emails and I would like to see certain emails, again in the future? I use mostly Yahoo and Gmail? I'm using Windows 10.

Hi all, I am currently getting a warning message as shown, this website is one only accessible from the local network here and so this error message can be ignored. However i was wondering if there is a way for me to disable the warning message as if clicked on will take us out of this window and we want to stay in this window.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I work for the Center for Internet Security (CIS) and my team develops the CIS Benchmarks for securely configuring a wide variety of technologies. Specifically, we make a Firefox Benchmark with recommendation on how to more securely configure Firefox. We would like to get some "Firefox People" involved in helping us update this Benchmark.
