I just logged onto firefox a little while ago and it claims my Webroot password manager is considered a legacy extension now, when it did not claim so last night. When and why did this happen, and how can it be fixed? Firefox thankfully does not consider the webroot filtering extension as a legacy or I'd be very upset. I got randomly bounced up to version 61 of firefox last night and I've decided— for now— to stick with it since it seems just the same as version 58, which I was using prior. But this is still an odd development to say the least. Can anyone help?

I use multiple tabs, and frequently load a bunch of tabs at once from bookmarks. If I'm in a fresh session (that is, I've actually _paid attention to basic security procedures_) and one of those tabs has a login possibility, Password Manager pops up in the foreground... even when not focused on that tab.

Do. Not. Want.

Password Manager SHOULD NOT either pop up or steal focus until I'm actually on a tab for which it has relevance. If that means jumping through six other tabs before reaching it, that's the way it should work. If that means taking a second or two of extra time when I reach that tab, that's the way it should work.

Is there (I hope!) an about:config setting I can change that won't simultaneously kill off Password Manager entirely?

For completeness: Windows 10 Firefox 63.0.3 (although this has been a problem for quite some time, back into the 30s)

PS This appears to be a consequence of the relentless, umm, focus on single-tab smartphone users as the default. That's not me.

I only have this problem with safeway.com. Firefox will not save the username (email address) for my login there. It does save my password, but I always have to manually enter the username.

Recently I tried manually editing the saved passwords (under "Preferences") - the username was blank for the safeway.com entry, so I put it in. This had no effect and the username field still is not filled in for that site.

Does anyone else have this problem with the login page on Safeway.com? I am using Firefox 63.0.3 (64-bit) for Ubuntu, but this problem has been present for at least a couple of years.

Hello. I have a list of logins when I go to AOL and I want to clear some out out. I am on Windows 10. As per the instructions I have found at this site, I try right clicking, seeing the drop down list of logins, highlight the one I want to delete, and hit DELETE. But the login is still there. I even tried clearing cache/cookies. But no luck. What am i doing wrong?

Hello all. I seem to have a new version of Firefox installed on my computer, or an update has made it a newer version (89) and now it does not save my passwords. When I close down the laptop and re start it the next time I want to use it and go to firefox, none of the paswords I had thought I'd saved previously are there. This is very frustrating as I have a lot of places I visit which I had, in previous times using an earlier version of firefox, saved passwords which populated the correct places. I am no techie so really don't understand what has happened. Every time I want to get onto even my email, I have to leaf through my black book to find the necessary password and do it all manually.

Please can anyone help?

My passwords are not being saved correctly and I'm running the latest version of Firefox. Twice this week I needed the correct pw to sign in to an email account and in both cases Firefox had the wrong password. Is there anything that can be done to improve the password saving of my Firefox account?

I have two Google Accounts, a private one, and a company account. The company requires to change the PW from time to time. Immediately after doing that, Firefox offers to update the saved login and I choose to update. To my dismay, I find out later, that the new PW was not saved, and I cannot login any more.

Happened three times now, and the third time I paid extra attention and updated in Lockwise manually after Firefox failed again. This is a nasty bug. Now I cannot trust Firefox to save my passwords?

I own a small business. We do have online accounts from suppliers, vendors to customers. I need to put employees in front of customer support for these online accounts. However, if an employee sits down to work on our accounts, he can clearly see the passwords for the log in information of our accounts.

Is there a way to lock the Firefox or any other browser (or any software or ANYTHING) out there that doesn't expose saved passwords? I don't know how to pass this security issue. The reason it's important is because if employee saves these passwords, he can obviously do bad things when he is not in the office.

Any help is greatly appreciated

I use the password manager in Firefox. Makes it easier to log in to different sites. I have found a situation that has been overlooked. Multiple sites use a persons e-mail address for identity. Different sites then would all use the one e-mail address for identity. Each site however would have a different password. So we have one "name" but multiple passwords connected to that name. Firefox doesnt realize that the one name has multiple passwords so everytime you login to a site that uses your email address as your identity, it asks if you may want to update your password. You have to refuse everytime because the different sites have a different password. If you update the password, each site will now have the password of the last updated password. Its a issue that needs to be fixed so Firefox recognizes how a Email address=Name can have multiple passwords because different sites are using the same name. It looks like Firefox isnt making the connection that different sites are being visited by the same person so some information will be consistent among different sites visited. Thus not realizing that its correct that the "same" name has a password that is different for this new site.

Is there a workaround? thx.
