I just updated to FF 111.0. After restarting FF comes up but then nothing. After a bit of I got the option to force close it. I tried opening a Private Browser and that worked fine so I figured it was one of my add-ons. However after closing the Private Browser and trying opening normally again it worked just fine. Disable all of my add-ons and for the same issue.

Renamed my AppData/Roaming/Mozilla folder and starting as normal worked fine. What a giant pain in the <bleep> trying to set everything back up.

Performed some more science and noticed this. After setting my Mozilla folder back, starting FF, and looking at the TaskManager, There would be 3 processes, one of those after a bit of time would show in red as Not Responding (or words to that effect). Clicking the window a few times to get the force close dialog again. Trying to open FF again, it opened just fine.

So I'm tempted to blame something in the update that is causing this. Yes, I could just start with a fresh Mozilla folder and reinstall all of my add-ons and blah blah blah, but whose to say that after setting everything back up the way I had it the problem won't come back.

I have thought about rolling back to FF 110.0.1, and suppressing the update check.

OS: Windows 10 64-bit Firefox: 111.0 64-bit

So yesterday, March 14th, we had a major snow storm which caused a power outage. When I finally got power back I now notice I can't open firefox without it just staying as a white screen (freeze). I can start it fine in safe more (hold shift and click on the icon). I just can't start it in normal mode.

My computer is using Windows 7.

What I've tried so far: 1) In safe mode I disabled every extension. Theme is already default. 2) Turned off hardware acceleration. 3) Cleared Startup Cache 4) Deleted Firefox from C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox and installed the latest version which seems to have installed it in C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox

Observations: 1) Changing the default user profile to a clean profile loads firefox fine. Switching it to my original profile causes it to freeze on load again. This leads me to believe that it's something to do with my profile. Possibly a corrupt file? 2)There are no error reports that I can find. 3) I noticed there was a firefox update rolled out on the 14th. Not sure if that has anything to do with this.

I've really like to not have to start a new profile. Is there anything else I can try?

Thanks!

bold textFirefox has become a HUGE memory hog, and every update makes it worse. Would it be POSSIBLE for mozilla firefox to ACTUALLY listen? Instead of ASSUMING you already know EVERYTHING, pay attention to your users.........MOZILLA FIREFOX, WILL USE UP ALL MEMORY(IDLING). There are several THOUSANDS of posts stating that mozilla firefox is a HUGE memory HOG, and of course the people of firefox can NEVER be BOTHERED to listen to the public.

That is the problem, we are left without the slightest bit of help or service when mozilla decides to intentionally ruin our PC's. And absolutely no one will believe us when it's been stated THOUSANDS of times that mozilla firefox uses up ALL memory(on the net).
Please do something, we the public are getting FED-UP, with a corporation that "just can't be bothered to ever help anyone". Hint: the incessant updates do more to make the users angry, than "improve a browsing experience". I'm seeing 500mgs and 12 windows forced open just to idle firefox, and this is directly after the update. email address: jimerb6@yahoo.com. Please explain away how it's all my fault, or my computer, or the net provider, this is wildly out of control. I await the least bit of offered help or service.

This computer was working fine until a couple weeks ago. I started having issues with some sites, including banks, support.microsoft.com and walmart. This is on Firefox, Chrome and Microsoft Edge, although it seems more severe on Firefox, which is my main browser. Below is a sequence for Walmart on Firefox, as an example.

1. Attempt login to https://www.walmart.com

2. Return message is: Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to www.walmart.com.

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

3. To left of url, is a Not Secure button. When clicked, there is an option for clear cookies and site data, which I click, and have data cookies removed.

4. Then I click Try Again, and page is displayed.

5. Search for an item, such as soap.

6. Page says Sorry... We’re having technical issues, but we’ll be back in a flash. NetworkError when attempting to fetch resource

7. Click again has page as above: Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to www.walmart.com.

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

8. Repeat steps 3 and 4. Page is displayed.

9. Select an item on the page, and once again: Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to www.walmart.com.

The page you are trying to view cannot be shown because the authenticity of the received data could not be verified.
Please contact the website owners to inform them of this problem.

10. Repeat steps 3 and 4 and page is displayed.

I use Firefox to access Facebook live, from which I live stream. Starting in the last few weeks (I don't know when exactly, sorry), I now get this error message (in the stream Event log) when I stream:

Too low key frame rate (currently 0.13 key frames/second; recommended minimum 0.25 )

And I get a separate warning from Facebook that the key frame rate is too low, and will result in poor video quality.

If I stream from Chrome, I don't get the error (but Chrome has other problems), so I think it must be related to Firefox. Is there anything I can do about it? Thanks.

bold textLinux Instance runnning in AWS locks up with firefox version higher than 78. Cyberark does use Xming aplication brokering. I logon to linux instance and type firefox and the page will lockup and I can't type anything in the browser. I have tried different options listed under your support page and ran many search related X11 slowness with firefox and nothing fixes the issue. Is there a bug with a specific version of Xming when using firefox? I have tried shutting down any McAfee services and the following options. Uncheck hardware acceleration about:config gfx.webrender.all set to true, browser.session.restore_on_demand to false, browser.session.restore_tabs_lazily to false and the browser does not lock, but once enter the web page it locks up.

Example when I use Red Hat Satellite , it locks up and had to kill the firefox process . When I add the options above I can get into the web page like satellite, logon etc. but then it locks. I need fire fox to work on a cloud instance that does use Xming since that is what CyberArk has. The python script that use gui doesn't work.

I'm using Windows 10 and Firefox 110.0. I've refreshed, uninstalled, reinstalled, cleared cookies, cleared cache, used safe mode in Firefox; scanned for viruses; and tried other things the last two days to solve my problem without any success. The problem is recent! All of a sudden I have a couple websites which won't load properly but work correctly in other browsers. Firefox is my favorite browser so I'm hoping to get the problem fixed. Can anyone help me please? I don't know what else to try! Thank you for any help or suggestions. Example: Meijer.com correctly loads the homepage. I use Meijer.com to order groceries. However, when I try to search for a product a blank page is displayed. Please see images.

ADDITIONAL INFO: I have discovered Meijer.com will load correctly if I use 'Private browsing' mode. What would cause it not to load correctly when using the regular Firefox mode?

Hi, I have been using firefox for a long time and have been quite happy with it, but not so long ago (I suspect that it started happening after the update from 14.3.) I have begun experiencing a really annoying bug/feature and have not been able to fix it myself.

The Bug: When watching any video on any site with fullscreen on, after going to desktop and back (with the three finger down gesture on the touchpad and then three fingers back up) to check the time, the video playing suddenly minimizes (goes out of fullscreen mode) and the whole site goes into fullscreen mode, just as if I have pressed f11 which i didn't a aslo dont want, i know that it seems as a minor issue but it is extremely frustrating as I have been using this for a long time now, and i cant just check time like this anymore.

What have I tried: I have tried doing this in incognito, disabling all addons, messing with settings, trying troubleshooting mode, logging out, and doing the same thing in chrome which doesn't do it.

If anyone has any advice, i would be very grateful, thanks.

Greetings Firefox support fren

I have lately been unable to sign in on the Bing.com website. There was never any issues till about 4 days ago with it.

Everytime I click signin. It just refreshses the page and nothing has happened.

I did install this firefox extension that lets me use Bing Chat on Firefox browser. It's a legit extension as far as I can tell, and hasn't loaded anything malicious in my browser.

Hopefully you can spread some light on this, or perhaps others have experienced something similar in the past?

Best regards Daniel

Hi I have recently posted an issue of mine so I have decided to ask about this as well.

The Problem: On my schools website there are records of my schools lectures. When I try to load them on the page they just load infinitely and don't play, I can even try to open them up in a new tab and the same happens. Sometimes i get lucky and they play without an issue for a while and then stop and infinitely load again, the funny thing is it happend on the exact spot twice. It isn!t an issue of my wifi or the school's server as the videos load on chrome just fine.

What have I tried: I have tried doing this in incognito, disabling all addons, messing with settings, trying troubleshooting mode, logging out, clearing out cache and cookies.

I would be very grateful if anyone has any suggestions,

Thanks.

Hello, all.

For years now, I've been facing the same issue and it is: Firefox breaksdown and becomes chaos during every update. What do I mean by 'during every update'?. I'll explain how I use firefox and what happens.

I am writing code that is tracking data from a websocket connection. That's why I leave Firefox open all the time, just for tests, to see how my web app would react to different situations. At some there is a Firefox Update. It downloads and installs it, but never actually notifies me when anything of that is happening. Here is the magic - I always know when there was a new version just installed. How? Firefox performance drops, weird and unexpected behaviour and it just becomes chaotic and sluggish until I restart. so I was looking at the console logs of the app that I am developing and after. All of a sudden, I start getting a "SyntaxError: redeclaration of let settings" or something like that (wish I had saved it). The error did not come from my code as I haven't use any 'lets' in my JS code. That SyntaxError was quite specific and I just noticed it in the last update, but the performance drop issue has been there for years now. Maybe that syntaxError was not specific to my app, but on a lower level. I have to keep observing, but I wanted to report it here. Every time there is an update (not a specific one) and I'm using firefox at the same time - I instantly notice the difference. I know, all I need to do is restart the browser and it works fine, but do we really want our browser to behave like that? Do we really want our work to be interrupted by an update that can wait until I restarted my PC? Windows 10 has the same issue. "I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU ARE DOING OR HOW IMPORTANT YOUR STUFF TO YOU IS! HERE IS AN UPDATE THAT WILL BREAK EVERYTHING AND YOU ARE FORCED TO RESTART". I know, I should review my firefox update settings, but these are the default firefox settings firefox comes with and it happens even on a clean install. There are people who would be like... *getting my werid acting voice out* "Oh, this browser has become so slow all of a sudden. Let me try Chrome. OMG! YES! IT'S FASTER!! I'll stick to that".

I did not keep any other issue, since i just closed the browser and did not bother to open it again. I opened it this morning and there was little update window. That makes me think now.. Does the update installation happen before I restart the browser or after? If the installation happens after the browser is clsoed, that would mean just the download itself breaks the browser.

I have a few addons active, but as I mentioned earlier, this happens even when there is an update after a clean install. Thanks for your time reading this. when I this happens again, I will try to gather more data and will update or post a comment under this post. Can anyone suggest any good way to pinpoint the cause? Thanks!

We are using firefox on Redhat 7 workstations and, when we first open firefox and attempt to load a web address it takes 25-30 seconds to connect.

After that first attempt, web addresses load almost instantly.

Our systems are only connected to a local network and not the internet, if that makes a difference. Also, we are using web addresses and not IP addresses. When I try by Ip address it's much faster, but I get the security risk warning for the ssl cert. So I'm not sure if my issue is something between firefox and dns, or if it has to do with the SSL certs? Both dns and ssl are handled by Red Hat IDM.

We are seeing the same behavior on all of our workstations.
