AI chatbot: Does the text I write and highlight in Firefox automatically get recorded even if the AI it is turned off?

I noticed that even if the AI is turned off, the check box for  "Show prompts on text select

Displays a shortcut to prompts when you select text. Firefox sends the text, page title, and prompt to the chatbot." is always checked and greyed out.

What gives Firefox folks of knowledge?

I use FF on a 2012 PC running Windows10. I was going to replace the computer, but a tech shop nearby has recommended (without seeing my computer) updating the hardware within. I have a lot of passwords stored in FF, and I should like some advice regarding protecting privacy by saving them and reusing them on the refurbished computer. Any other comments about refurbishing as opposed to replacing would be welcome.

It has been working fine - now I get this message:

New to this forum, wanted to ask - I recently downloaded Mozilla Firefox and I got a page wanting me to download "MyAllSearch", is this from Mozilla and is it safe? The website goes to myallsearch.com if it helps.

I followed your instructions but they did not work. Specifically, I clicked on "Exceptions" after "Ask to save passwords," next to which I had clicked the box. Under exceptions, I put the URL for my bank. I clicked on "Block" and "Save Changes." Nevertheless whenever I go to my bank's log in page, it still autofills my user ID and password. (Yesterday I accidentally clicked the box when signing in to my bank's web page "Save User ID." Even though it only referred to my User ID, it now autofills both that and my password.

Also, even though there is a (non-working) Exceptions page for Saved Passwords, there is no such page for Saved User IDs.

Btw, when I used another browser to sign in to my bank's website, it did not autofill, so it's not the bank's software that is autofilling.

I asked for Mozilla help about two weeks ago and was told to do this, which I did. I first went to my chrome browser and stopped it(2FA)... Got a confirmation from them and It was then corrected on Google Chrome and Chromium. No longer had to verify my email logins on Chrome and or Chromium. I don't know how to stop it on Mozilla.

But when an application calls for it, "Joachim von" is (incorrectly) provided as my first name. How do I edit my saved name so that it is displayed correctly? The purpose of private mode is obvious from its name, then I wonder why Private mode uses the same download folder as the regular mode. It's not so private if files downloaded during Private mode go into an easily accessible and permanent folder. Following the logic of everything else in Private mode, there should be at least an option to have downloads go into a temp folder that gets deleted when leaving Private mode.

Why is there no way to select a download folder from Private mode that differs from the normal mode?

I don't follow this logic.
