I'm trying to revert Firefox back to its classical behavior of asking whether and where to save files. Changing "browser.download.improvements_to_download_panel" to FALSE does not work. Even with "Always ask where to save files" in SETTINGS selected. I've found numerous confusing write-ups on the forum.

As many have expressed, the decision to make saving files automatically the default is a TERRIBLE one.

I require a step by step method to change Firefox back to its original behavior concerning saving of files. I've used Firefox since its inception and this is the first time I've ever asked for help. If the current behavior is made an unchangeable default I will likely switch to another browser.

Is it possible to make a link open a new tab with "Find in Page" automatically enabled so that people do not have to ctrl-F or click on "edit" to have the search open (as many people do not even know that option is there !!!) ?

The printing quality is very bad when print from Firefox. It seems quality dpi< 150 although I changed print.default_dpi to 600 or 1200 but nothing happens. If I switch to "Save to PDF", quality will good. So I believe this problems come from the Firefox printing setting. When I print from another browser or another application such as Word, Excel, this problem never come. I also browse some topic about this problems and it seem no answer can be used. So is anyone here having the same problem as me? If yes, how can you resolve it? Please help to advise me. Thank you very much.

I've noticed this issue happening randomly, some of my toolbar bookmarks listed on the sidebar just up and disappear from view. As if they were never there. But I know they're still saved because when I click to Manage Bookmarks and check them there, they show up fine. The toolbar just randomly hides them for whatever reason, and I can only fix it by closing Firefox and opening it again.

I'm on the current version. I remember accessing about:support and clicking on Verify Integrity while trying troubleshoot some other issue, but don't know if that could've caused it though.

I can not send emails to gmail & optusnet addresses they bounce back. See example below.

Deleting autofill entries does not work per article. The info is still there. Clearing history does not work either. Do I need to restart computer for it to forget/delete entries? Thank you. Fred couvrette

Why should we be forced to switch to an O/S we don't like. Vista all over again. These are good O/S Microsoft just money hungary with poor replacement O/S's. Windows 10 and 11 are junk.......................

I am wondering what if anything regarding settings, customization, data, etc is likely to break if I perform this update? THis has happened in the past and is why I turned auto update off. Should any intermediate updates be done to stepover/convert any of the data structures to a newer format?

About a week ago I started getting these message windows 'Gah. Your tab has crashed.' I have never seen these before now they're everywhere. I have tried all the Troubleshoot procedures and nothing seems to help. I've done all the cleanups and checked the add-ons but there is nothing new and no changes I am aware of.

Hello: I'm on Windows 7 on one of my devices, and using Firefox 115.0.2. When I try to update to 115.0.3 the update fails. I'm directed to download the ESR version

QUESTIONS:

1) Will I lose features, add-ons, extension I now have if I go to the ESR?

2) Will I still be able to sync the Firefox on win7 with Firefox on a windows 10 device?

Windows 7 SP1 Firefox 115.0.2

When I open my MSN home page, there is no sign-in showing. I have 'Keep Me Signed in' selected but occasionally I do need to sign in again or I want to sign out to sign in to another account, which is not an issue. Now, no sign-in. A few notes. When I open Outlook to view E-mail, my E-mail IS available & I can now sign in to my other E-mail account from there. When I open MSN in my tablet, MSN sign in is available. Tablet not using Firefox, so I thought this may be a Firefox issue. Let me know any thoughts. Great Thanks, Lee

It loaded and played OK prior to this update.... works mighty fine on another browser, if this is not fixed I'm through with Mozilla AND you can remove my account!

Yes I cleared the cach, I change profiles..... as said by each update about:config gets bigger and bigger.

I have used Firefox literally since its inception. Do an enormous amount of streaming with it. As such I check for updates every time it's launched. My most recent update finished with an INFURIATING MESSAGE FROM MOZILLA STATING NO FURTHER SUPPORT FOR WINDOWS 7, and had the AUDACITY to suggest I transition to WINDOWS 8 OR NEWER OPERATING SYSTEM. Since when did Firefox/Mozilla start sucking up to bill gates and his band of fools? Get this straight now and FOREVER, I WILL NOT NOW, TOMORROW OR EVER INSTALL WINDOWS 8 OR HIGHER ON ANY MACHINE THAT I OWN. No one can justify why microsuck insists on an INTERNET CONNECTION TO PLAY A GAME OF SOLITARE!! Microsuck insists on creating an account to access the trash filled microsuck app store. It ain't happening as long as I have a pulse. If Firefox organization want to buddy up with microsuck, HAVE AT IT!! I'll NOT follow the advice. To hell with microsuck AND those that push their trash down the publics throat. I'll quit using their browser. I ONLY post HERE because the miserable pricks don't offer a way to contact them directly. Feel free to criticize and slash away at my intelligence. I got broad shoulders and a BIG backside. My firefox browser has disappeared. Usually when I restart my computer firefox is there and the icons at the bottom of the page for websites and email. Now there is nothing.

right now, my problem is with this site eyerim.com. I am in Hungary, so when I type eyerim.com into the address bar, I get to eyerim.hu instead, with a Hungarian translation of the homepage.

But I did not ask for effing eyerim.hu, with its shitty or maybe non-shitty Hungarian translation. I want to see the original homepage, but if I type the eyerim.com address the hundredth time I still get eyerim.hu.

Now, to be clear, in this specific case I managed to get around the problem by typing eyerim.com/blog, and voilá. But I don't want to have to look for bypasses, I want Firefox to PREVENT any such automatic redirections. How can I do this?

I am running Windows 7 (and will not downgrade to one of the newer versions). Firefox has stopped supporting Windows 7 with version 115, which I am currently running. However, I get a pop-up message each time I launch Firefox asking if I want to download the latest version (which cannot be installed).

Is there some way to stop this annoying message from appearing?

Call me old-fashioned, but I miss Netscape...

I cant select the open previous tabs cheq box. it doesnt work. Very frustrating! This is after i made firefox the prefered and protected browser. I cant change that it seems.
