Every time I open Firefox, it prompts me for my Primary Password immediately. Skipping the dialog the first time opens a second, identical dialog. It's not being caused by any add-on/extension, because the problem occurs in exactly the same way in Troubleshoot Mode. It's not Sync, because I'm not signed into any Mozilla account. An internet search showed me a page here indicating I should disable Primary Password, then re-enable it. This didn't fix the problem.

I do not have a password to use Firefox, and of course Amazon.com does not require a password unless I sign into my account. However, whenever I go to Amazon, a popup asks me for a password, saying that the request comes from Firefox. If I dismiss the popup, I can continue undisturbed with Amazon. I do not find this behavior with other Web sites, so I'm skeptical it's an overall Firefox setting or anything to do with my devices. Not that I can think of my mouse and backup drive as caring about security. Any thoughts?

In Firefox, it's possible to store logins, and then assign a Master Password to protect those stored logins.

In the newest version of Firefox desktop for Windows (136.0 - 64 bit) - it asks for the Master Password twice, even when only showing a blank start tab.

Normally, it will first asks for the Master Password, when you browse to a website, that has a stored login. Is it a bug or a new security feature?? - anyway, I find it very, very annoying.

I got a new desktop PC and used PCmover software to migrate all data, apps, and settings to the new PC from the old. Since that time, every time I sign into my primary password to access my passwords, I must repeat my primary password 3 times. What gives? This is getting annoying.

Until the last couple of days, I could go to any website without having to put in my Primary Code, now Firefox is asking for the code on EVERY website and I am reluctant to put it in because it would then leave all of my accounts exposed if I leave my computer.

I'm happy using Password Manager, but I want to choose when I put in the Primary Password and not be dictated to by an algorithm, particularly if it doesn't involve membership and I am just looking for information.

How can i stop it from happeniing?

I have set a primary password, and it all works exactly as it should. But, when I first start firefox, if I type too quickly, my keystrokes find their way to the address bar, rather than the primary password entry pop-up. AFAICT this is because the address bar is automatically selected as the focus for typing at firefox startup.

This sometimes means I've put the first few characters of my password into a search. And with search completion, I worry that these characters get either recorded or worse sent over the Internet.

Is there any way to deselect the address bar before I've entered my primary password? I don't want single site browsing or such, just for either my keystrokes to be buffered and sent to the primary password pop-up, or for the keyboard to block until said pop-up appears.
