I love Firefox but it has a market share of just around 7% and is even lower than Edge (which is terrible IMO). Chrome has the most users at around 65%.

Although Firefox is a much better browser, the perception for many is that Chrome is better due to much faster browser loading. I have Chrome and Firefox installed on Windows 11 with the same extensions and Chrome loads my home page in 2 sec whereas Firefox takes 7 sec to load. Even after deleting all cookies, cache and web history, Firefox still takes 7 sec to load my home page.

It's great to prioritize security, flexibility etc and I love these aspects of Firefox, but by not doing something to improve the awful loading times, you are leaving users with the impression that Firefox is inferior and LOSING the browser battle.

I have a prolem with my firefox browser since about 3 weeks. So I hope somebody around here can help me with that. Somehow it occurred that HTML5 videos need very long to load. Sometimes it even shows me the message that I should restart the browser. I really cant find the problem. I have the newest version: 109.0.1 (64-Bit) I deletet the cache. I also didnt install any Plugins or addons. Since the problem occured.

I tried other Browsers on my Computer and it works just fine. By the way I also have a pretty new Computer, the specs are fine.

The only thing I didnt try, is to reinstall Firefox. Because i have a couple of tasks opened which I dont want to lose or put in booksmarks. But that also cant be the problem. Because I always had around 10-20 tasks opened in the past.

I hope somebody can help me or had the same problem and knows how to fix it.

I use firefox to play music, so I usually have a window in the background while I do other things. When playback starts after a pause, or between songs, the playback window often steals keyboard focus. So if I'm typing in another window, I'm interrupted. Very annoying. It happens on at least youtube, navidrome, and jellyfin.

I've found a few others reporting similar issues that suggest setting `mozilla.widget.raise-on-setfocus` to `false` - but this doesn't work for me. How can I figure out what's triggering this keyboard steal so I can fix it?

I'm using firefox esr 102.7.0esr, but it's been happening for a while. I've tried the debian builds and the official firefox.com builds, same behavior. Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi! I recently closed Firefox like I do every single day, and when I came back all of my tabs were gone. A folder appeard on my desktop with, what i pressume, is the files for the previous session. I moved the files from the sessionstore-backups folder to the Firefox profile folder and nothing happened. Can someone please help me?

Ever since Firefox updated today I've been unable to use the browser. It takes at least 5 minutes or more minutes to load, I can't manually log into any websites until the speeddial finally loads, and the speeddial addon refuses to come up for at least 5 minutes, I can't log into Dropbox even with the speeddial up and running because the capcha won't popup...and on and on.

What in the world has been done to it? I'm using another browser just to contact support.

Firefox get stuck after taping in the search bar with google search. The pages are loading infinitely, I saw on internet a lot of people having the same issue since at least 2015 but I don't find any easy solution. This is not an extension problem since I've deleted them all. This is very annoying, I don't want to change of browser because I already configured everything, can you please help me to correct that ?

Firefox Crashing Multiple TImes a Day

I'm not entirely sure what happened but I know earlier this year in as recent as July Firefox was working fine. I don't know if it was an update or what it was but now Firefox is consistently crashing multiple times a day.

There's never an error code but one of a few things happens:

  • The entire application will freeze and not let me control Firefox at all. I need to launch Task Manager to close the browser and then sometimes reset my computer to ensure it doesn't happen again.
  • With the most recent update, some of my emails on GMail (not all just some random ones) will not load in any capacity.
  • The browser will flicker white and will hide the top bar of the application so I can't close it without task manager.
  • The application will slow down and then crash with a "Do you want to send this report to Mozilla?" and I always click yes.

I have tried disabling and removing all extensions, I've tried firewall stuff, I've tried everything I can find but the browser is only getting worse in my experience. With this last update everything loads a few seconds slower than usual as well.

Is there a solution I am missing or am I doing something wrong? I am very very close to switching browsers but I'd rather not if there is a fix.

All this started after I loaded Norton. I have had them look at the system, and they have, but also point out that it is not them as I can access the site from Edge. I have looked at the help page and their are thousands of people with the same query but no fixes! As a long term supporter of Firefox I am disappointed that I now have to use Edge to do most of my business. HELP

Firefox updated today. Right after, I noticed that my Group Speed Dial took several minutes to load everytime I launched the browser or opened a new tab. After several minutes the browser would load and the tabs were fine. While the browser was loading I also couldn't open the Tools menu and click on anything. Nothing would come up. I've already cleared out my cache, etc. but it hasn't helped. Can you help?

Firefox now sometimes seems to hang on some favourite sites: Task Manager reveals up to 24 tabs/windows open (the number in parentheses after the app name) and Disk C is 100% active. It can stay this way for ten minutes with no change on the monitor and mouse clicks do nothing. If you kill Firefox via Task Manager and try to restart, you can get a splash screen that it's still running and do I want to close it. Sure enough, there's seven line items for Firefox in Task Manager. I use Trend Micro as anti-virus software but I can't figure out what the problem is. Any ides? I wondered several times why firefox recovers old tabs when it chrashed. now i see that in my profile folder/sessionstore-backups the file recovery.jsonlz4 is some days old (while i was using firefox in the meantime very often) and does not update frequently as requested by about:config browser.sessionstore.interval = 15000 (15s). - this folder or the files are not locked. i can delete/rename them, they are not re-created - there is no file sessionstore.* in the main folder of firefox profile while running firefox - i am using 102.4.0esr (32-Bit) on a company PC (could there be any restrictions?) - the file previous.jsonlz4 seems to be created correctly when firefox is closed normal (which is not my usecase, i want to restore up to date tabs after crashes) - i am not using a private window

When I try to use the sign in through google function (such as the popup created by soundcloud or third party clients, like the Riot Games launcher), as well as just signing into google normally, the page prompting me for my email loads fine. However, when I provide my email, regardless of account, loading the prompt for my password takes a very long time, ~1-2 minutes. The page just spins infinitely, doesn't show any considerable usage in firefox's task manager, and doesn't give any errors in the process. The problem doesn't happen in another web browser, such as chrome. What's strange is that, AFAIK, the only two processes affected are the google login, and amazon checkout. I can hit the checkout button on amazon, but the page will simply load eternally. If I look at amazon through other means, such as my phone, I can see that the order I just checked out HAS been created and paid for, but firefox is caught on something and never loads the order complete page. Other logins and loading processes are not affected. Some (I have been trying to fix this for days and cannot remember all) of the troubleshooting steps I've taken are- -Manually removing all extensions -Disabling Window's Defender's browser protection -Running Firefox in safe mode -Completely refreshing firefox, wiping all settings, cookies, cache, and logins -Disabling tracking protection (although the indicator shield shows no activity on google's sites) -Double checking the cross-site cookie protocol (I've had the automatic five-exception set up, and have never been prompted about it before -Given the nature of the sites with issues (google, youtube, and amazon) I even checked for evidence of the Trojan mentioned here to no avail: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/websites-show-spinning-wheel-never-finish-load
