Is there a button I push or a feature I enable to make sure that I'm opted-out of any future updates that include AI 'features'? Or should I switch to Vivaldi now and save time?

I need to know how I can stop my overflow bar from appearing whenever I click off and then back onto FireFox.

Steps to recreate starting in FireFox: 1. Click on an application other than FireFox 2. Click back on FireFox and then the overflow menu appears 3. Click anywhere on your FireFox window and it vanishes until step 1 & 2 are repeated

I search but did not find any list of environment variables supported by Firefox. Is there such an official list, perhaps groupped by Firefox version, published somewhere?

I am using Mozilla as my default web browswer in Unix environment. It is great... except for a particular behavior of the browser window. When I middle click (MB2) the frame of the window, it doesn't go to the background, like all my other windows. Intead it opens a new tab (when I click at the top of the window). This is very annoying becaue I use MB2 /go to background all th etime. Any idea how to change that behavior and make it consistent with my general unix preference? I host a website, and don't want browsers (particularly Firefox) offering modified versions to others. Is there a header or something I can set webserver-side to disallow Firefox from offering the option?

Hi! I'm on a relatively new to me (refurb) desktop computer running Win 10 Pro (64 bit)* and Firefox 143.0.3.

In the past week both Firefox and Win 10 have updated. I don't know what happened, but now when I boot up or reboot, my computer opens to MS Edge. Yuck!

Every single time I have to reinstall Firefox! Once I do that, all is well again. I have all my bookmarks back, etc.

It also keeps changing my "default to Firefox" browser setting, turning it OFF, while I'm using Firefox. I repeatedly have to keep going in and clicking to make FF to the default browser again.

Why is it doing this? How do I stop it?

Anyway, I know I can't delete Edge or uninstall it. How do I shove it back into the black hole it has lived in until now?

Hi, new Firefox Win 11 user, new laptop, how do I enable main touchscreen gestures, swipe, pinch etc. All other apps, browsers work, so HW / drivers work. Can't find how on user forums, or in settings.

I'm trying to stop Firefox from restoring tabs after I restart my OS. So far, I've done the following:

• Disabled `Startup > Open Previous Windows and Tabs`
• Disabled all extensions
• Confirmed I do not have a `user.js` file
• Set `browser.sessionstore.resume_from_crash` to `false`
• Set `browser.sessionstore.restore_on_demand` to `false`
• Set `browser.sessionstore.resuming_after_os_restart` to `false` (It was already set this way.)
• Set `browser.sessionstore.max_resumed_crashes` to `0`
• Set `privacy.clearOnShutdown.openWindows` to `true`
• Set `browser.sessionstore.max_tabs_undo` to `0`
• Set `browser.sessionstore.max_windows_undo` to `0`

(I've since reverted the last two and the extension changes after they didn't work.)

So far, Firefox will not restore tabs on application restart (manually closing and relaunching) or on crashing (after sending SIGTERM/SIGKILL), but it still restores tabs after restarting the OS (if I allow the OS to kill it during shutdown). I've seen a couple suggestions to disable history completely, but I do occasionally refer to my browsing history, so I'd prefer a less-drastic approach. Ideally, I just want Firefox to treat the first launch after a shutdown as a normal launch and not apply any special behavior. Any help would be much appreciated!

System: Fedora 42 (Workstation Edition) Running Firefox 144.0.2 on Gnome 48.6-1.fc42

I am trying to make the Firefox window move behind when I middle click but it instead creates a new tab. It work on any other application window such as Chrome. How do I disable the middle button from opening a new tab and also make it to go behind the window when it is clicked. I have already tried putting browser.tabs.opentabfor.middleclick and middle.mouse,openNewWindow and other ones to false. Still no fix.

This is both a settings issue, and a privacy and security issue. I want to disable the google lens context menu item to protect my security and privacy from constant AI monitoring. I've almost accidentally clicked the new option before and I don't want to send photos or images to google's AI unless I specifically intend to do so.

I feel like Mozilla is interfering with people's privacy more and more, taking away features from their users, adding features we don't want, butting in and telling us how our browsers should work. This is starting to become absurd. Now you've added AI into the browser that can control how your tabs are displayed and named even, a setting I found while trying to disable Google Lens.

There's a couple other settings I need to figure out how to disable too, such as the context menu of translate and the ChatGPT context menu items. I just removed ChatGPT and a new AI chat bot option appeared. Just wow. What the hell Mozilla. Is your intention to just turn your browser into one big spyware?

Give me the option to disable all of this stuff you keep adding. I have a policy thats supposed to disable your auto updates too but YOU disabled that as well allowing you to install all this malware/spyware into my machine without my authorization.

It appears even though I'm not using Firefox's auto-spelling feature. It now appears in the right-click menu. I've never seen this before, so is this a "new feature"? I want to delete it because it is not necessary in my environment.

I admit, I don't read about updates so I don't know when Firefox did all these "enhancements"...but I'd love to know how to turn my mouse wheel BACK into a "scroll through the page" only function. I hate it auto opening links, I hate it scrolling through tabs. I suspect it of doing other "helpful" functions...and I can't even find the right words to do a search for this. The only applicable setting I found is "autoscroll"...which is turned off in my preferences...and which the browser STILL does.

All I want is for my wheel to scroll through the page...under my control. No auto-stuff. There's no setting for this in my mouse controls, as far as I've been able to determine, and it didn't used to do this. It must be in a Firefox update. Is this even possible any longer? Or am I, after decades with Firefox, going to have to change browsers? At this point, I've had far too many important operations disrupted and even fouled by this "helpful" change.
