I have a macbook pro. For some reason the time zone in the browser is one hour behind. Every page I go to asks me to use my current location, but still, the time zone doesn't update. The other browsers work just fine. I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, deleted cookies, but nothing worked.

Everytime I try to open a tab on my Firefox window, it loads for a second before a blank screen saying that my tab has crashed. The only times I can open a new tab is on a private window.

Hi, is there any fix for the following? The functionality is intentional but it is absolutely maddening, so I'm hoping there is a plugin workaround or something:

The user should never be in a position where one simple wrong move obliterates things they've saved (even if it is a recoverable situation). To say 'the user must close windows in a certain order else lose all the tabs they clearly don't want to lose' is just bizarre.

Through the years (been using FF since its first months) on various computers, various OS and FF versions, I've kept a bunch of bookmarks in my toolbar for frequently used links that I can QUICKLY "right-click, copy link, paste" (3 steps) into social media posts.

Tonight I opened up my bookmark contextual menu, hit copy, pasted it into my Twitter, and it pasted the title instead of the link!!

How useless is that! A title is easy to type out, a long complex url isn't, having a "copy" (title) instead of the "copy link" is entirely useless!

Now to accomplish same, I have go choose "edit" instead of "copy link" and then "click drag" the url then "copy" then "paste" then close the window. 5+ steps instead of 3. Who on Earth thought changing that function was a good idea?! More steps is NEVER a good direction.

Clarification coming from possible answers: Firefox's "Paste" function is working fine, since the url correctly pastes to Mac PAGES and Facebook. It's the paste to Twitter that does "Title" instead of "url". So obviously a Firefox-Twitter problem.

Variation of problem: I tried "Copy" from Firefox Bookmark Subemnu, then went over to Twitter on Chrome, and the "Paste" to Twitter on Chrome also results in a paste of Title instead of url. I tried "Copy" from Chrome Bookmark Submenu, then paste into Twitter on Chrome, and the "Paste" correctly pastes the url. This points to a mis-programming of the Firefox "Copy" function in the bookmark submenu.

the certificate on my linksys lrt 214 router not recognized. used to be able with previous versions to bypass security with advanced tab no longer able to do this cannot use older versions of firefox to bypass. need to access web interface of router at 192.168.1.1 to upgrade certificate but cannot. linksys does not have a work around. please help

I have my Firefox Firefox Privacy & Security History settings set to 'Always Use Private Browsing Mode.' Yet every time I open Firefox and visit the History tab, 'Recently Closed Tabs' shows a history of the websites I've visited. How do I disable this feature?

Hello - I keep searching for various fixes to this, but nothing seems to work. I have the latest version of firefox. Macbook user. Catalina 10.15 I find that with almost any website that I'm trying to log into, or enter a credit card and other information, the browser does not show these items, pull downs, forms to fill in etc. I'll go thru a whole process of something, and will be directed to click a box or some such that just isnt there. So I move over to Safari, and the entire page loads. I've adjusted the privacy, cleared cache etc. It's like I'm on an ancient browser.

Any help welcome.

Firefox is the default browser on my MAC… used it for years, no problems.

Lately, when I get my daily email from The Washington Post, and I click on a link to an article, Firefox (1) shows me the lead picture as a blur and (2) in a short time, blanks the window.

When I click on “reload,” the article comes back (at the beginning of the piece) with the same fuzzy picture and again, within a minute, blanks the window.

If I use the same links, from the WashPost article, and use Safari, the pictures are clear and the article doesn’t disappear.

I don’t know if it’s related, but when I’m playing a game from the AARP website, and it’s time for a commercial, the window goes blank and I have to reload … which brings up my game where I left off.

I don’t know if it’s relevant, but I have “AdBlock Plus” and “AdBlocker Ultimate.”

Any thoughts ???

macOS 14.1.1 on an M2 with FF 120.

When going to sites such as nbcnews.com/now or https://toronto.ctvnews.ca, A/V sync is off by about a second.

This appears to be due to the volume being muted when video playback starts. Unpausing the video leads to the video freezing for a very brief moment, then the A/V sync is clearly incorrect.

This can be replicated on YouTube by loading a video, muting the video (if not muted already), refreshing the page (F5), allowing the video to play, then unmuting the video. The sync will be incorrect.

If the audio is unmuted when the video play back starts, this does not appear to happen.

Following this article has no impact: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/performance-settings, nor does setting media.hardware-video-decoding.enabled to false.

This issue does not occur on Microsoft Edge.

Up through Monday, 10-16-2023, I could play Amazon Prime Videos. As of Tuesday, 10-17, I no longer can. I can do this on other browsers, e.g. Chrome and Safari. Can this be fixed or do I need to stop using Firefox?

Thru Firefox, I use Tineye to find related photos - I use it all the time, it's been great - I always use a VPN and have never had problems until now (as of yesterday). Now it won't search, a verify you're human window comes up, and I have to keep clicking squares, which I do - but then it says to allow cookies and start over. Well I don't want to allow cookies (I assume it's one of the options I have thru Firefox to block cookies), and I can't find where to allow cookies even if I did (I went to Firefox preferences etc) and I don't want to disable my VPN. Maybe I should mention that I just added or started a Mozilla account, as I have had immense trouble with my aol emails, and am trying to move everything over to a gmail account. My sign in to Firefox was the aol email, and I had to (try, I thought I did it) add another account, which I think I did successfully. So it was right after that, that all this started. Help please! If I search "lemmy", I want to see that in the URL instead of the full search URL: https://www.google.com/search?q=lemmy. It makes it easier to copy the search query. If the query has spaces than they're written with +s in the URL. I remember months ago this ended up being the default even for pre-existing Firefox profiles, but then it was changed back.

I want to re-order the add-ons / extensions in the toolbar shared with the search bar. Customize toolbar only has functions/icons related to the operation of Firefox. I want to customize the extensions toolbar, but how?

In the add-ons page, I can remove, disable, or enable extensions, but I cannot change the order of them.

As an example, there is an add-on for my Firefox account that is leftmost in the bar of extension icons. I would like to move it all the way to the right. Again, how would I do that?

I have been using Firefox for many years and I have never had problems, until now, out of nowhere Firefox closes and the little window opens that the report is being sent to Firefox, but I can no longer restart or open Firefox, until I reset the computer, This can happen one, two, three and even four times a day, making it very uncomfortable to reset the computer.

I have already tried many ways to solve the problem, from completely uninstalling Firefox and reinstalling it, I use very few extensions, I already disabled WebGL and also disabled hardware acceleration, nothing has worked, when Firefox closes, I cannot open Firefox Developer either and That browser was not even open at the time of the failure with Firefox.

Since firefox's latest update I am unable to access my online PNC banking account. PNC says that Firefox is no longer compatible with their online banking system. I'm using an IMAC computer. Hi friends. We have had some recent power outages when everything was back up running my youtube screen only shows the video but everything else is white. I will try to attach a screenshot.

I am running an iMac with system Sonoma 14.4.1 installed.

I have used Firefox for over 10 years with no problems.

As of a few days ago whenever I start Firefox the window appears with the Bookmarks sidebar panel already opened. I click the "X" on the sidebar and it will close - until the next time I start Firefox. If I choose Menu->View->Sidebar->Bookmarks and uncheck it the panel will close - until the next time I start Firefox. No matter how the Bookmarks sidebar is closed, it will always reappear when Firefox is restarted. Even if I switch to some other sidebar, Bookmarks will replace it on startup.

I've searched about:config and found no setting which seems to control sidebar behavior on startup.

I assume this is the result of some recent update. Is there no longer a way to permanently disable the Bookmarks sidebar?

Need userchrome.css content for highlighting background color of bookmarks in dropdown.

Can you someone provide me with this userchrome.css snippet to high bookmarks with background color in URL dropdown box?
