Noticed yesterday but not as prominent, firefox suddenly steals all window focus, trying to do anything in any other window is pushed into firefox no matter if it is minimised or in another workspace. I have tested this in a clean install along with a clean profile. Bitwarden and other windows seem to act weird when they are interacted with.

This all works well and good on b8 and stable. I am using wayland (Ubuntu 22.* default), but xwayland is available.

So, for awhile now when I go to some sites, the screen suddenly starts flashing, then it jitters and turns some light color (like a light green; not blue screen, not black). If I guess where the "X" is to shut down the tab that has the video, I can end this. Often, like on youtube, I find the problem is some ad video that was playing. The rest of the site is ok. But not always.

It happens in lots of places, though. It is not per se a YouTube problem or just a problem at NBCSports. I shell out to MS Edge, and it seems to handle everything fine, so I'm assuming at this point it is a browser issue.

One last point: after this happen the screen display is degraded even after I manage to shut down the offending tab or video. It takes a Log off/log back in or reboot to fix everything. The degradation takes the form of making the screen look a bit like a pointilist painting, although that's an exaggeration.

FF 109.0.1 64 bit Windows 11 NVidia GeFORCE RTX 3060 running studio driver 526.98 (I have switched periodically from / to their gaming driver, which doesn't seem to matter)

My keyboard regularly locks up using Firefox. I tracked the problem down to having upwards of 40 Firefox processes running in Task Manager. Disabling them or restarting Firefox only works for a few hours before the problem recurs.

Several people here recommend disabling "Use recommended performance settings," which should give me the option of selecting the max number of processes to be running.

However, when I disable the recommended performance setting, the hardware acceleration option appears, but not the process number selection. I'm finding no way to set the max number of processes.

I'm hoping for a work-around to that, or a different solution.

BTW, I also notice excessive processes running when I use Chrome. I'm concerned why this is happening on both my browsers.

Certain fonts are displayed not as what I set them to in Firefox's settings.

At first, I thought it was a windows OS font related issue- it's not.

I've followed everything here: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1323130 (The answer support link is inaccessible. But following the answer did not fix my issue.)

Also looked to see if any of my add-ons are affecting it. I've disabled them on the sites (in the screenshot) but the fonts are still displayed as attached. Checked to see if the add-on uBLOCK is disabling remote fonts, that feature is not checked so that's not the issue.

After downloading the latest version of Firefox, I was unable to import bookmarks from my earlier version. Therefore, I uninstalled the latest version and am using the former.

Since I can see no advantage of switching to the latest version of Firefox, how can I disable the ever present, annoying reminder to do so.

I have a question regarding syncing. Is there a way to remotely remove all synced information from Firefox on a particular PC without actually accessing it? For example, if I sync my home PC Firefox with my laptop or my work PC. Then, one day, for some reason I no longer have access to my work PC, and all of my sensitive information is there. Or if I lose my laptop, or if it is stolen... Is it possible to remove all sensitive information from a remote synced PC? Alternatively, is there a way to remove all synced information every time I close the browser? This way I can remove a particular PC in my Firefox account and once the browser is restarted at the remote location, the data will no longer be pulled and synced. Can this be done? I have a laptop running Windows 10, plus the latest version of Firefox. The laptop has a built-in webcam. I have also connected an external webcam via USB. This second camera is better quality and preferred, I visit a web site. When I first activate the camera, I am presented with a dropdown of available cameras. The USB camera appears in the list. All is fine. I instruct Firefox to "allow" this camera to be used. (first image) However, after a short time, less than a second, the same dialog is shown again, this time without the USB camera. (second image) There have been no actual hardware changes. I can then click "allow" again and the *integrated* camera works, i.e. not the desired camera. So, two questions, really. First, what just happened? Did Firefox try to control the USB camera, find that it couldn't, and redisplay the dialog showing only the "controllable" option? Second, my desired endpoint here is for the web site to use the USB camera. How do I achieve this? I can easily do this with Chrome but I like Firefox. TIA.

The last time I updated Firefox it forgot my open tabs and browsing history. I never want to update Firefox again so how do I disable this annoying popup about a new version? If I cannot eliminate this I will change to another browser.

My bank's website has a 2 page verification process for logging on. The first page is for the User ID and the second page is for the password.

Until just a few days ago, I could enter the first letter of my User ID into my bank's website login field, and FF would auto-fill the rest. Now when I enter that first letter, nothing happens. I then have to look up this info before I can continue. Luckily, the second page (for the password) is working just fine.

If I remember correctly, there has been a recent FF update. This new update may be the source of this issue.

Is this new feature? Once I click on link with middle mouse button, that tab is opened and switched to it. Previous firefox versions only opened tab and thats it. It is very frustrating. I want open multiple tabs and then view those tabs. Now I have to, suppose I have 5 links listed in webpage:

How can I turn off the new Facebook Comment popup? I want to use the old version where the comments are listed under the original pots not in a seperate narrow popup window.

I know how to turn on OS authentication to reveal passwords in about:config (signon.management.page.os-auth.enabled = true) But is there any way to turn this on in registry?

Regarding the sponsored ads in the new tab screen, the help link states, "Mozilla is paid when users click on sponsored shortcuts."

I just wanted to know if Mozilla is paid for each click or for each unique click. If I click it 100 times on the same computer, does Mozilla get more income than if I were to only click it once?

As mentioned Firefox, unlike Chrome, does not ask me where I want to download a file on my computer. I have it checked to "Always ask me where to download the file" and yet it still does not. Additionally when downloading PDFs it opens another tab as a preview for the document in question that I have just opened, but I do not want it to it is quite annoying. Thank you for your help.
