I need the path to the Firefox app. I have no desktop icon. When I right-click the Firefox icon in the Taskbar, then right-click Firefox in the list, there is no option for Properties (as there is for most other programs). In File Exlorer Options I selected "Show hidden files, folders, and drives" and then I searched This PC for firefox.exe -- it took a long time and only found several files like "AppCrash_firefox.exe_[gibberish]".

I have tried many times and many ways to delete cookies but the little blighters won't delete. I have used the option "manage data" and cleared each one individually, I have tried "remove all' and I have tried clearing all history. I have tried each option many times and have shut down firefox and my mac repeatedly but the cookies won't go. I know it has done something because it logged me out of all my accounts and all the form data and browsing history [which I would rather have kept] is gone....but those rotten cookies are still alive! This must be a bug. I am using Mac Big Sur. Any help would be very much appreciated please! Thanks muchly.

Recently I have noticed that many websites do not load or just keep a spinner going. (today it was southwark.gov.uk and bank.barclays.co.uk). When I load the sites in Chrome they load ok, but show a banner (at the top or the bottom of the screen) asking me to ok use of cookies or review the uses. Those banners do not seem t show up in Firefox and prevent the page loading.

After a recent update the firefox popups (right click menu, alerts, etc...) are black instead of the usual light gray. How can I restore the previous color? Thank you

A very important parent Bookmark folder disappeared again!

When I do a Search, I can find Bookmarks that are in the Parent Bookmarks folder but as I have reported before, the HUGE issue is that there is NO way to find where the parent Bookmarks folder or the Bookmarks in the parent Bookmarks folder using the Search function! How can I find the parent Bookmarks folder and where the Bookmarks are that were in the Parent Bookmarks folder?

I have added many Bookmarks since yesterday so I do not want to try to do a Restore.

I need to find the Bookmarks that disappeared soon.

I am experiencing long start up times with FF version 96.0.3 (the latest), and the task manager shows ten FF loads, some are quite small but others large. I have done the obvious by clearing out the start up cache and ridiculous amount of cookies that manifest, but on previous FF versions one could limit the start up processes 1-8  but there is no way changing this with this new version. Has FF abolished this ? My notebook is a couple of years old, but what is creating the slowness ? I have also checked the Speedport and this is fine.

I deleted many endemic updaters on power up which are barely required, i.e HP printer updates which only clog.

When starting Firefox I used to to see my "BBC NEWS" home page at that time. Now when Firefox starts I get "Sorry can't find that page". If I select "restore previous session" I get the news page from the last session not the current news ! Is there a cure for this ?

How does one stop auto-downloading update when one go into menu > Help > About Firefox? I'm accessing that to see the version. There's not even an option to stop the automation like is found in many online video players (ie: Next play in 5... 4... 3... 2... 1... [next plays] and clicking on that stop the countdown); and I don't remember the installer giving a choice (ie: (1) auto-download & install (2)auto-download (3) manual download).

I need to use Google Meet for a professional purpose. When I use is from the Chrome browser, I can present a specific tab on my desktop; however, I prefer to use Firefox as my default Browser. The problem is, when I use Meet on Firefox, the presentation options don't include sharing a tab. Is there a way to fix this, or do I just need to use Chrome when meeting?

Originally the plus sign to make a new tab was after the tab I was on, but when I moved the New Tab button down and tried put it back, I can no longer put it after the tab I am on.

I intend to upgrade my desktop PC from Win 8.1 to Win 10 soon due to Microsoft discontinuing support for 8.1 next January and I want to know how to preserve all my current settings in Firefox (including saved Pocket articles). Also, does anyone know for certain whether or not Firefox will be automatically migrated to Win 10 in the upgrade? (If it does, maybe that will answer my first question?)

I like to hide the "closer" in fox clocks but how do I reference it in chrome/userChrome.css

I love the product but I have three issues I would like to suggest could be improved

1) when using Search Bookmarks, I would be useful to show which subfolder a link is stored in. This would be beneficial when there are duplicates and deciding which bookmark(s) to keep or how to improve grouping

2) my workaround was to Export Bookmarks to HTML and use a text editor to search However, the HTML file has a huge overhead of ICON data. It would be nice to disable ICON data or remove it completely. I test saved 2 bookmarks to a 16Kb file, after manually stripping the ICON data the file contained 467 bytes. My normal Bookmarks folder is near 400Mb which appears to be held in memory, reducing overall performance when Firefox is running. Removal/exclusion of ICON data would make this closer to 12Mb

3) the View Cache feature is very helpful but I believe it would be beneficial if the columns could be selected as the Sort By source (instead of just the date). When trying to save cache files like images or videos, sorting by size or type would be a huge benefit.

I am a retired software developer and would love to look into these things, However I think the overhead of understanding your code and tools could take too long to be beneficial. I suspect you probably feel the same about my list :-)

I know that due to privacy and security reasons some :visited options don't work anymore but I have a problem with some recurring job where I need exactly one of these features enabled in order to be more efficient.

I need to go through pages with tons of thumbnails and for those that I click, check and catalogue some of the hashtags if present and flag possible comments. The problem is that many thumbnails are repeating or look very similar to other image links and thus I often click the same image multiple times just to realize I already visited that one. This costs me time and money.

Would it be possible to check the visited status against history programmatically via an addon or any other way and if the link is found in browser history, and instead of checking for :visited inject an own CSS class (e.g. MyClass) into the image link tags so that I can either format the image with a border or even replace it with some void image or so? Well in fact I need to see on the fly, whether that link needs to be visited or not.

When I open private browsing, the icon for private bookmarks is not there. If I look in add ons, the private bookmarks add on is there and turned on. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can find them?

Following a VERY troubled update to Windows, which required several hard shutdown/reboots, invoked an automatic attempt to repair Windows, reported that the repair attempt failed, but then booted into Windows normally, the only thing that seems to be wrong is that certain websites report "Secure Connection Failed" with an error code PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR. Contrary to the support page, there is no option to report this to Mozilla; the only option is to retry. When I click retry, I get the same page with the error code PR_CONNECT_RESET_ERROR. This is not a problem with the website -- same website works fine in Firefox on both other computers in house, one running Windows 10 and one running Windows 11. This is not a problem with the operating system -- I have used both the system file check and distribution manager to check/repair Windows system files, and also successfully accessed the web page using Internet Explorer (Microsoft Edge is disabled in Policy Management). So this is clearly a problem with Firefox. I attempted to reset Firefox, but it didn't help. I then uninstalled Firefox, and attempted a clean re-install; I'm not sure how clean the reinstall was, because it detected the prior installation, and imported things. The sites I can't access include Wikipedia (of all things!), some links in the Firefox support pages, and my on-line banking website, which is pretty critical. Other websites work just fine, including most of my other financial accounts -- credit cards, etc. HELP!

I recently changed Firefox settings to delete cookies for everything when I close it except the sites I use frequently. This has worked great for everything except for Google sites which sign me out every time I close the browser.

I assume there are some supporting sites for signing in to Google that need to be in the exception list, but I don't know what they might be. I'm also using Mozilla's new Multi-account Container extension in case that matters.

Like many my bookmarks disappeared. Following the many suggestions one seemed to have possibilities. That was to restore a backup file. However when the restore option was taken in the library only one showed up which was dated with today's date. I then looked for and eventually found the 15 backup files that were claimed to exist.

But how do I select one of these and use it for backup purposes if they don't show up in the restore list. By the way the only file shown in the offered list is not one of the 15 backups.
