I tried all the suggestions but nothing seems to work. Only thing I did not try was one preference that is locked so I could not change it. Is this going to be fixed in the next upgrade? if so, when is the upgrade coming? the web page it is having a problem with is "ptd.net". IE and chrome both open it without any delay. Firefox Version 70.0.1 (64-bit)

The title of my question is a bit hard to understand. Let me try to explain.

My library gives me electronic access to the Oxford English Dictionary (my favorite dictionary, with all those helpful quotes/example sentences!)

What I should get:

1. Go to http://www.vpl.ca/digital-library/oxford-english-dictionary

2. Click the "Access Now" button (link to https://www.vpl.ca/extDB/login.remoteDB?OxfordEnglishDictionary)

3. I'm taken to a page that says "VPL Electronic Resource Authentication", where I enter my library card number and PIN.

4. I enter my card number and PIN, then press the Authenticate button

5. I'm taken to to a page that says "Your login was successful." I then press the "Continue ➡️"

6. I'm taken to https://www.oed.com/ where i can now happily use the dictionary

What I experience:

1. Go to http://www.vpl.ca/digital-library/oxford-english-dictionary

2. Click the "Access Now" button (link to https://www.vpl.ca/extDB/login.remoteDB?OxfordEnglishDictionary)

3. I'm taken to http://www.vpl.ca/digitallibrary

4. If I go to oed.com directly, it shows that I'm not logged in /authenticated.

Firefox does not allow me to print downloaded and possibly other files. It does not bring up TWINUI, and maybe this is the reason. Using microsoft explorer, TWINUI appears, and printing works fine for the same files. How do I fix this problem. This is a fairly new problem and I only wish that when software works, it does not need software weenies messing with it!!!

My IT department tried manually installing certificates but it didn't fix the problem. I haven't found anything helpful searching the web. Here's the error message.

Hi, I've problems with syncing my FF account (including passwords). On a fresh installed system FF sync isn't retriving data (bookmarks, passwords etc.). Although on both systems I can see the devices in the account view.

How can I solve this issue?

In this case newsletter links from "The HIll" is routed through some intermediary site, click1, and there is some https issue in the switch.

I take a lot of newsletter and I'm finding FF more and more unreliable in opening links associated with newsletter services like MailChimp, Click1, or Constant Contact.

I was filling out a Vermont PDF tax form online and made the tragic error of choosing firefox over their default for this. Immediately hundreds of tabs raced across the top of the screen and I had to cancel and cancel and cancel until they all were done. I closed all history restarted my computer and tried again and it happened again with any Vermont tax form that I tried. Any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated I have no tech savvy at all!

YouTube HTML5 1080p@60fps videos in full screen are choppy, independently if the hardware acceleration is turned on or off. That is not a hardware issue - I have no problems with watching 1440p@60fps videos in chromium.

I restored my AppData folder. After that Firefox stopped downloading any files. I tried to reinstall it, but I got an error about unabling to create temporary archive from 7z. Then I tried to run installation as Administrator and Firefox was installed. Apparently sync wasn't working. I tried to install some extensions manually and got error message "Download failed. Please check your connection.", also, I couldn't download any file from any site (fail). When I start Mozilla as administrator, all downloads work fine, but application is working for another user.

Any idea how to fix it?

For reasons unclear to me, I lost the download function in the Firefox built-in pdf viewer. In place of it is the function to open an existing pdf file (and that works as advertised). See the uploaded image. What happened?! I need the download function back.

The reason I need to solve this problem is that I cannot get Firefox to NOT use the built-in viewer. I have tried changing the associated actions to pdf files to Always Ask, to Adobe Acrobat reader. Nothing gets applied. Help!

I am unable to delete bookmarks. Not with the Delete function on any menu, and not by dragging off the Bookmarks Menu list in Library to the sidebar (which used to work). I have used Cookie5 (now disabled), which bloggers say corrupts places.sqlite. I have tried these things: I deleted the places file and restarted. This wiped bookmarks but not their folders. 2. I went to Time Machine and replaced current places file with older ones. Bookmarks returned but still no delete option. 3. I tried to restore bookmarks from backups. All JSON backups must be corrupted, because none will open. And the Export and Backup functions do not work either. 4. I checked Places Database to Verify Integrity. No solution there, but readout is below. 5. I tried to create a new profile, set up an account and tried to sync. No luck. So I copied an older places.sqlite file into the new Profile: the bookmarks were there, but in the new profile the problem of deleting them remained. I am stumped.

I'm switching permanently from Chrome and this is the first problem I've run into. I had Firefox set to never remember history before, but since it's going to be my primary browser now I need it to remember cookies. Every time I try to change the history setting it pops up with "Firefox must restart" but when it restarts the setting is still set to never remember history and it just pops up again. How can I fix this? Already tried custom setting for history and browser.private.autostart and they didn't work either.

Ideally I'd like firefox to remember cookies but not history, but it's not a major issue if it has to have both.

I have 4 different computers on the home network, and 2 laptops. 3 WIN7 and 3 WIN10- All have the same Firefox version, and all sync'd up. All but one laptop have no problem playing TV Network streams from https://www.vipboxtv.se/. I'm attaching the screen shot. This is a Dell XPS12 laptop with windows 10, the problem only started happening recently, without any changes
