You can fix the software problem without requiring a system restore to do so. It only is happening with Firefox, not other browsers. The website display in some coding format, which I don't know how to use.

I am currently on 133.0a1 (2024-10-04) (64-bit) Nightly and the new tab button to the right of the tabs is missing. It will show up sometimes, but I have to go to customize and move some things around, then start browsing and it will pop back up.

I use that button often, how do I get that back?

I have my settings set to automatically update Firefox. Earlier this week, Firefox 131.0 was installed through this automatic update. Since then, Firefox repeatedly and randomly crashes, and I have no idea why because it did not happen with previous Firefox versions. There seems to be a bug in the new release that is causing this.

I'm using Firefox Developer Edition 132.0b2 (64-bit) and noticed that the only way to open a new tab is to click on the pancake icon and select new tab. The "+" icon in the tab bar is missing.

I also noticed that there is no way to reload the page (especially doing a hard reload). This is a major issue when making updates to websites and wanting to see those edit. Clicking in the address bar and then on enter will reload the page, but does not do a hard reload, so the cached version of the page is displayed, not the updates.

We are seeing that the key "DisableAppUpdate" being set to TRUE in about:policies. Not sure why this setting is being set. The result of the setting is "Updates disabled by your organization". So we cannot manually update firefox and are not sure why the setting is being set.

We used Procmon to capture logs:

Is there anything in Firefox that can trigger the setting of this key?

A couple of days ago Mozilla updated the home page. Even though I examined the spiel I now get MY Home page and a Mozilla page when I open up the computer. How do i get rid of the Mozilla page?

I am getting the following error message: Platform version 131.0.1 not compatible with miniversion. Please see the screenshot attached for further details. I cannot open firefox due to this error message and I receive this error message every time I try to open the Firefox.

I have loved FF desktop browser since I started using it per my boss in 2003. But I am so tired of the fact that EVERY SINGLE TIME you put out an update it breaks my access to the bank. EVERY SINGLE TIME. I waste HOURS reading articles, calling the bank IT dept, chatting with people who are on 3 calls at once, only to hear them tell me to "just use chrome." I clear the cookies, clear the cache, reboot, follow all the prompts in the settings and THEN the damned bank server doesn't recognize the device so it forces yet ANOTHER password change. It happened again TODAY and it makes me so sad but I cannot do it anymore. I am STILL now (going on 4 hours) trying to access the billpay page @ Xantanderbank. (ahem, secure codename) I am forced now, by this craziness, to use the imbecilic duckduckgo which is A) and offensive name and b) you KNOW it nowhere near the product you have built but I CANNOT DO THIS ANYMORE. Thank you for the time it takes to read this diatribe. I appreciate it.

Latest update, 4. oct. Using Firefox Developer Edition. Closed the browser window for the day, and then on opening again it had updated, my entire toolbar, and also icons where the tabs are, are just gone - including the "+" icon for creating a new tab, along with the bookmarks bar having vanished. Picture added below.

It seems like the bookmarks bar is still there, you just can visibly see any bookmarks. Tried adding a new bookmark, but nothing appeared.

How can I fix this?
