Firefox on my Android smartphone is well synchronized with Firefox on the computer. I can see that both contain the same list of logins and passwords. When I must log in other applications, there is a notice that appears saying "unlock faierferox" followed by the sign of fingerprints. But when I try to have my fingerprint recognized, nothing happens.

What should I do?

Thanks for helping.

Is there a way to get a generated password when Firefox does not suggest one?

For sites where Firefox has saved credentials it is suggesting new passwords, but when I try to create an account on https://www.acehardware.com/user/login it is not suggesting a password in the password field. An alternative method would be helpful.

Every time I try and use Firefox autofill for a saved password on my IPad (iOS 18.1) I get a message that says I must be logged in with a device code. I have no idea how to do this as I am already logged into my device and there is no place to enter a password or finger scan. How can I fix this.

Hello!

I want to easily log into iCloud using my Redmi Note 9 android phone using firefox; so I went into settings and carefully added the URL for iCloud and the password and saved it. BUT, when I then go to iCloud URL and try to log in with my email, the password does NOT work! Why?

I must say, I have less and less regard for both apple and firefox. Why, oh why must it be a royal flucking pain in the ass to simply log into a cloud service on your phone? But for apple and firefox, this is evidently asking too much.

firefox on android manages websites and passwords like a sh!t sandwich. For example: when I do log into iCloud with firefox android manually, it DOES NOT prompt to save the password! How stupid is that? You want to log into a cloud server quickly and easily? Dream on! No can do-oh on firefox. You'd better scribble your password on a post-it note and bring it with you; otherwise firefox with flock you.

It really seems as time marches on, these giant tech corporations get sh!ttier and sh!ttier....unaccountable, indifferent to the peasantry who must suffer needlessly using their sh!tty products.

Time to look for a new android web browser as firefox is rubbish.

Have a great day :-)

Hi on my ipad 10 ios 16.1.1 with firefox 129.2 (44469) I am "paired" or logged in as my username BUT i simply cannot autofill passwords - even though the box "use saved password" appears on sites ive registed....

I then tried logging out and in again and repairing the device and - same deal.

Also, when i goto "settings > passwords" it says:

"to save and automatically fill passwords, enable face id, touch id or a device passcode.....learn more" That support article does not seem to solve anything for me.

I am using firefox on my desktop and my iphone and both of those work.

When attempting to insert account/password into a website, the Firefox would popup, ask for the iOS passcode, popup the list of matching accounts then immediately closed that popup and create a blank tab.

This also happened when trying an alternative but similar method with "Use saved password".

Infuriating.

Difficult to reaearch this.

Happens on numerous websites, most recently at Alternative To dot net.

I've been deleting my saved passwords in Firefox, after migrating to a standalone password manager. It's been anything but easy (deletions are not synced, and bulk deletion process is inconvenient to say the least).

What worries me is that my "deleted" passwords kept coming back as soon as I enabled Sync, until I realised I had duplicate devices in my Mozilla account control panel. I still have, though, some other connected services (Add-ons, Mozilla Support, Mozilla Monitor...).

Is what I've done enough to ensure they're gone? Where exactly are synced passwords stored, and how can I be sure that they aren't lying around in a Mozilla server, awaiting a future data breach? I don't have the time and energy to change 200+ passwords.

Samsung Galaxy S9 plus.

I mistakenly uninstalled Firefox, then reboored and reinstalled it. How do I recover my saved passwords?

I tried going to the Data folder, but there is only 1 folder there, "export messages", for an app that lets me print out or save existing text messages .

Help!!

I just discovered that the android phone (Samsung A71) I am currently using was in fact still using Lockwise for Auto Fill.

How do I force this old copy of Lockwise to do a final sync before I uninstall it. I do know that at least some of the passwords stored in it are up to date. At this time, I DO NOT have access to a PC. I DO have access to a more recent android phone (Samsung A53 5G) that DOES NOT have Lockwise installed and is using the most up-to-date version of FireFox for Android.

Also is firefox typed out in lowercase or one of these ways: "Firefox" or "FireFox"? I have a habit of camelcasing some computer terms left over from my days as a UNIX Administrator (AT&T Bell Labs versions and not any BSD versions) and want to know the proper way to type it (from the horse's mouth so to speak).

Unable to use password manager on most pages

Hello! Firefox for iOS is my main browser, but often when visiting web pages it doesn’t show the ‘passwords’ button on a username/e-mailaddress field when attempting to log-in. It does show the button when asking me to enter a password after entering the username/e-mailadress manually.

To solve this I tried different password managers (Enpass and now Bitwarden). It does show up on Safari. I have this issue for some time now and I do experience it on several iOS versions (16.1 to 16.6). Also I tried manually re-enabling the 3rd party password manager within the password settings on my device. Unfortunately I can’t share a screenshot of me seeing the password manager on the password screen as it hides the section when screenshotting..

Does anyone know how to solve this? It makes using a password manager a headache and would love to solve it!

Why does not Firefox alphabetize saved passwords by business? Some logins requiring passwords start with prefixes like login, and for the same company with just the company name. AT&T has several as does Verizon. Unfortunately Firefox spreads them around the list. You have to repeatedly scroll down, try one, then Firefox takes you to the top of the list so was it the 3rd or 4th AT&T item-- you loose your place. Then down much lower on the list are more of the same company. Can you tell i am really passed with Firefox?

Lockwise worked fine but is sadly no more.

I use my fingerprint to unlock my saved passwords on my 'phone. My master password on my laptop is letters, not numbers. My tablet has no fingerprint facility and only offers a numerical keypad. Therefore, I am unable to access my passwords on the tablet. If the PIN requested is NOT my master password, how am I to set up a PIN?
