hi, I'm using the same TB Calendar setup for a while (3 years), in February 2024, calendar sync became erratic with showing under TB Calendar a warning : your agenda is temporarily unavailable, some events did not sync . but for the last couple of days, I'm unable to sync any events from my yahoo calendar towards TB calendar. the tbsync shows OK, reports no errors in log. could you help please , this is quite urgent matter for me. I'm moving away from proprietary platforms and am setting up Thunderbird to manage my calendars. My calendars are hosted on a Synology and synced via caldav.

Sync seems OK, but interface-wise, I cannot find a way to have my events showing their location, directly from the calendar view (even daily).Clicking on the event, the location shows, but I really need to see them directly from the day or week view (I'm a teacher, so at a glance, I need to know in which class my next lesson is).

Is there a way to set this up, or a feature to be requested?

After moving from Win 10 to Win 11, I exported my TB calendar events on the Win 10 PC, and imported them on the Win 11 PC. Now I can't edit or delete the imported events. The "edit" and "delete" tasks are greyed out.

This question hints that there might be a way to subscribe directly to the Google holiday calendar rather than downloading and importing it. Does anyone know how to do this?

After adding my nextcloud calendar via CalDAV in Thunderbird 115 (no plugin) I can perfecly add or remove events to the calendar and they get synced well, however, if I receive a notification the button to dismiss them does not do a thing. Firat I thought this is related to Birthday reminders, but it is also true for events I have added to the standard calendar via Thunderbird.

Sorry if this is a double post, but I only found similar issues with older versions of Thunderbird and a plugin for the calendar.

I have added my own categories in the Thunderbird Calendar New Event window, but I am unable to edit or delete either default or added categories in the list. How do I edit this list? NOTE: this is different than mail categories.

For some reason, I don't see the calendar subscriptions in the Calendar view. I restarted the app, and I'm at the latest version. I did install an add-on that made things a bit wonky (a markdown plugin, but I'm not sure if that's when the calendar subscriptions disappeared). I uninstalled it. I noticed the problem after I had uninstalled the add-on.

Does this problem seem familiar to anyone? If so, how did you fix it?

I'm getting duplicates of calendar items using the Provider for Google Calendar whenever I enter an event in Thunderbird. This doesn't happen when the events are posted elsewhere, on a Google Calendar. When I'm about to enter a new event, I can see a line labeled "Calendar" that gives me 3 choices ... 2 of them are the same, like xxxxx@gmail.com and the other is GMAIL. I have 2 gmail accounts sharing on three devices ... my laptop, my phone and my wife's iPad. Once I've finished and closed the event, I wait a bit and I get the duplicated item beside it. When I right-click on an event that I've put into Thunderbird, I see a line that says "Organizer:" with my gmail address. I don't see anything like that when clicking on a duplicate that has popped up. There is also a Related Link ... https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0/event?eid=X2M5ajYyZTluNnRpajBiOWo2OWg2YWI5a2NkaGphYmIyYzhzNjRiOW02cGozaW9wcGNkaW04b2hnY2tfMjAyNDAxMTFUMTgzMDAwWiBnaGNoYXJ0ZXJzQG0 ... but it comes up as "requested URL not found on this server". I am getting old, my vision is much weaker than it used to be and now I have what is commonly referred to as "Eye Floaters." There's nothing that can be done to fix that, but with dark themes I can usually not see them. Due to a bug (or feature, if you prefer) in the Windows 10 Scaling and Layout settings, once you change them, there's no going back, at least that I have found. Low vision forced me to try to increase the font size in Windows, and in the (seemingly irreversible) process, I set Scaling to 150%. That fixed the problem of text being too small, but it also affected many programs in a negative way. Everything is waaay too big. For example, the menu bar and overall page header in Firefox was massive, taking up nearly a third of the top of my monitor screen. It did the same thing in Chrome only worse. The page footer was almost as big and between the two it left about two inches in the middle to view a website's content. This was very annoying to say the least.

I found a fix for Firefox, by changing the ui.textScaleFactor to 100. However, that did not work for Thunderbird. I found a way to fix it, by going back to Thunderbird 102, and now the email and address book are fine, and the calendar works fine, except for the colors with really bother me. I can't read the screen without looking away to the right of the screen. This is because the colors are too bright, and that is in a dark theme. I don't even want to look at a light theme. It would probably blind me.

Here's what I have. The 1st image is what it looks like, and the 2nd is what I would like to make it look like. Is it possible to do that? Please excuse the low quality color replacement on the 2nd image...

Is there any way to get of duplicate scheduled items in the Calendar? Everything is duplicated! I'm not sure how they got there but it might have happened when I was trying to fix a differenct problem. Can I disconnect from the Google Calendar then reconnect?

So I was having problems changing an event to a different day. I performed an update, restarted, recheck updates, restarted PC Open thunderbird, mail appears Okay, calendar Okay Still cannot change an event (appointment) and it has lost the last appointment I added yesterday I decided to just add the adjusted even as a new event, and all calendars (2023, 2024, Holidays, birthdays) all now blank, and .ics fils are all 4.0 kb Seriously what has happened. Was working 3 days ago perfectly, now it's "stuffed". 1. Calendar is Blank 2. Cannot add anything new 3. creating a new calendar (restored from backup) is BLANK -Any suggestions? PLEASE

First of all I would like to say that I love Thunderbird! I am also not very IT literate when it comes to manipulating software or using the correct language so please bear with me, I find these a bit overwhelming.

I was hoping someone could help me with with my calendar, I have tried to change settings on other software and it went terribly wrong and I don't want a repeat. I have read the various help files but it doesn't make much sense to me :(

I have a domain with Dynadot for my website and email, it's basic but does the job for my small business. It has IMAP abilities and an autoreply but that's about it- there's no calendar app but does have an email app... just. On my Windows laptop I use Thunderbird for all emails and calendar requirements which is great when I'm using my laptop. However, I do meet with participants and don't always use my laptop so I need a way to be able to view and book appointments using my andriod phone.

I also have a member of staff who needs access to my calendar and be able to book appointments for me and vice versa. As we are both out and about a lot the calendars need to be "live" and easy to reach, much like the paid for Outlook shared calendar.

At the moment my member of staff doesn't use Thunderbird as their main software, they have Outlook. We did try another email/calendar app but their shared calendars were just links that we had to save and keep logging into, it was a nightmare and without the updating we had some double-bookings. I don't want to go through that again, it was embarassing.

I would greatly appreiciate your wisdom in how I can resolve my issue and easy step by step guidance on how to do it properly. I am the type of person who will get locked out of everything!

I'm using an old, no longer supported add-on called Reminderfox that saves its contents in ics format. I used to be able to import this to Google calendar and Thunderbird but for some reason they and also Microsoft Outlook won't now import the ics file. They either give an error as in Thunderbird's case (error, no items to import) or just remain greyed out so I can't do anything else as in Google and Microsoft's case. I have submitted the ics file to an ics verifier online and it says there are no errors. I have also looked at the file in notepad and can't see any obvious errors, although I'm not fully conversant with the ics format. Can anyone suggest what the problem might be or anything else I can try please?

This morning there was an update to Thunderbird. When I reopen the program I can no longer see the right end of the screen. There is no toolbar to scroll over to see that side, and I've been unable to resolve this in the settings. I am using Density > Compact and I do not have any add-ons installed. See screen capture. I will have to stop using TB if this can't be resolved.

The point 5 ("From the Format list, select iCalendar (ICS).") is not there anymore. The wizard shows directly a form where you can enter the "Location", but if you enter the URL of an ICS file, it says "Could not find calendars at this location. Please check your settings."

Is there a different way to add these calendars? (and any other ics calendar you can find on the web)

I'm not sure when this started happening but Thunderbird (115.3.1, Linux) is no longer sending email invites to my invitees, even if some of those invitees are on my same host. as "Organizer" I do get an email notice to my personal email, which is the default attendee, with subject "Accepted: testing", and body, "mfoley@novatec-inc.com has accepted your event invitation.", but nothing is sent to the other invitees on the list. I checked the error console which showed these messages after I created the event:

Not sure these apply to creating a calendar event. My server settings are fine, I can send and receive mail to the Thunderbird inbox without problem. I can send email from the Thunderbird client without problem.

Any idea why I can't send event notifications to invitees?
