Thunderbird for NixOS nixos - 1.0

I could not figure out how to provide a log at all. If there is a way, please let me know and I will provide one.

Whenever I try to log in with gmail, I get stuck on this dead end:

1. Set up gmail server config (because my email ends in @vcu.edu, however I have tested this with a proper @gmail.com email and observed the exact same behavior)
2. Get propted to login with google, which works
3. Get to the "Mozilla Thunderbird Email wants access to your Google Account" page, select all and hit continue
4. get redirected to `http://localhost:35141/?state=<string of chars>&iss=https://accounts.google.com&code=<another string of chars>&scope=https://mail.google.com/%20https://www.googleapis.com/auth/carddav%20https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar` This page does not load, I just get a "unable to connect" error
5. get a notification stating "Authentication failure while connecting to server `imap.gmail.com`
6. get ANOTHER prompt to log in with google, exact same thing happens

please note that the port is random and is different every single time. also, google does not register that I have allowed Thunderbird access to my account, and it prompts me again every single time. I believe this is all the information i can provide. Firewall was disabled for testing. I cannot log into either my school or personal gmail accounts.

all of a sudden, my deleted emails are not going into my Trash file. They are not spam. They are just emails I've already read.

Again, all of a sudden I have a Spam folder which I do not need or want. I want my Trash folder back and I want to be able delete my emails into that folder.

Right now, and this is new, when I delete an email it completely disappears.

firefox on windows 11, keeps blocking my camera and Microphone despite express permissions to allow, i look in permissions and the site is clearly marked to allow camera, but when i goto sitye, no camera or mic is allowed until i delete the permission that is supposed to allow it.

I allow my camera and mic.

I return to the site and it tells me camera and microphone blocked.

I goto0 settings>Permissions>Camera

It clearly states that the website is allowed to use the devices, but when on the website the devbices are blocked. Whats messed up is, if i delete your settings>Permissions>Camera, it allows me to use my camera and mic, until i refresh the webpage and its blocked again.

This makes zero sense and is every reason for me not to use Mozille Firefox as a browser at all.

I am in the midst of the long process of moving most (not all!) of my gmail from the gmail server to TBird, using filters as discussed in this thread.

I've started by first using filters on less important emails (ie so that no true disaster occurs if something goes horribly wrong). As I do so, I have questions!

For example, let's say I use a filter to: copy all the emails from @someone.org to a local folder then delete those emails (from the server)

What happens if one of those emails happens to be within a thread, including emails from people who don't match the filter (ie are not @someone.org). Have I broken the thread forever, ie, has something gone horribly wrong? If so, how do I prevent this behavior/have the entire thread move along with the targeted value? If not, I don't see how I can move email without breaking threads, which is a bit of a problem.

(Also - whoops, I see I should update, but the question remains.)

I've never had a problem before but suddenly I'm getting an error when I try to log into one of my accounts telling me "The STAT command did not succeed. Error getting message number and sizes. Mail server pop.gmail.com responded [AUTH] invalid credentials. Why is this happening now?

I have 4 other accounts on Thunderbird and this is the only one that has started giving me problems.

Just had a not requested update to 153 esr, which in itself is generally fine, with a small exception.

The windows min, max and close buttons all come up with a code.

Probably just some weird setup I have but any ideas will be welcome.

I use userChrome.css to give a background colour, so maybe the ID of each has changes for any css

1. titlebar-min{height:1.66em; background:#00b !important}
2. titlebar-max{height:1.66em; background:#090 !important}
3. titlebar-close{height:1.66em; background:#d00 !important}

but I don't see how that would effect the actual bare icon

Since some time my standard number of print copies in Thunderbird has changed from 1 into 2. I have to adapt this number each time I print. How can I change this back?

Attempting to import data from my Opera to firefox. I click on import data and it just perpetually hangs. I have closed all other browsers and it still hangs. Only antivirus I have is windows defender.

I can't seem to get microphone and video to work I've checked the permissions and still it's not working. I need to sign a docusign with a notary and time is of the essence . I am about to throw the phone at the wall. please help

I am encountering a message of "The installation seems to be incomplete. Please check your hardware and disk setup and/or re-install." when trying to run Thunderbird.

This first occurred on a system that had been working for a while. An update may have been installed.

Here's what I've tried. -

Uninstall Thunderbird (along with Firefox and Mozilla Maintenance.) Checked for Program Files/Mozilla folder (all were removed). Run SFC / Scannow Run CHKDSK Installed pending Windows update. Restarted the System Renamed (essentially removed) Profiles folder Turned antivirus software off Downloaded and installed the latest version of Firefox, then Thunderbird. Launched Thunderbird. Still received the same error..

Any ideas on how to resolve the issue?

When i attempt to retrieve my email I get the following message at the top of my screen, "The certificate for POP3.pangia.biz expired of 8/13/26. How do I renew it? My email address is jahoagy@signalpeak.net. Thank you John Hoagland.

All folders for email are working correctly except Business messages. The server shows 23% full, but the messages are not downloading. I have checked all the connections, and the incoming and outgoing servers are accessible. There seems to be one connection which is not set for Business messages, but I cannot find a solution

Our power went out this am and turned off my computer. I am unable to recover my Firefox bookmarks. I've done the Manage bookmarks, but when I get to Library there is no Import/Backup to click on.

All my read emails are showing on the top bar of my thunderbird. I have to scroll left past multipee tabs to get to my inbox. This just started recently and at the same time email replies started showing up under the original. can I turn these features off.
