I’ve noticed that Firefox consumes a lot of memory, especially when I have multiple tabs open. Sometimes, it slows down my entire system, and Task Manager shows Firefox using over 1GB of RAM even with just a few tabs. Other browsers like Chrome or Edge seem to handle memory better with the same number of tabs.

I’ve tried restarting Firefox, closing unused tabs, and disabling a few extensions, but the problem keeps coming back. I even checked techsquest.com for tips, but I’m still struggling. Are there specific settings, hidden features, or optimizations I can apply to reduce Firefox’s memory usage without sacrificing performance?

Here’s what I’ve already checked:

Firefox is updated to the latest version.

No unusual extensions running (just uBlock Origin and Dark Reader).

Hardware acceleration is enabled.

Dear Team After Updating from 102.15.1 (32Bit) to 115.28.0 (32Bit) I can not connect to the provider "pop.hispeed.ch" anymore. Ping pop.hispeed.ch (on CMD) shows normal raction of beeing reachable with a "reply from xxxx.". I am on Windows 7 SP1. I have checked several times all setting POP and SMTP, switched off Firewall, uninstalled virus scanner, and and and many more (all knowledge found on internet..). Pressing the "Get Message" button in the upper menue bar shows no raction when pressed. The icon "Get Message" on the left side of the button "+ New Message" results in a none moving blue status bar at the right bottom of the window. After a while with the message "timed out.. ".In the settings "Config Editor.." the values of "mailnews.tcptimeout" are set to "300", and "true". I am using TB since donkey years with many many eMails. Are the lost? I am seeing a new problem with the latest Firefox version 370.0.2 (aarch64).

When I try to load a link, Firefox seems to go into a sort of "spasm" with repeated attempts to load the link via multiple new web pages.

The link finally loads, however if the link is a login page I can get login failures due to multiple login attempts (e.g. Microsoft login fails authentication due to multiple attempts.)

Please can you help with this ASAP.

I have used Firefox for long time on both Mac and Windows.

Recently, I have been experiencing the phenomenon described above, i.e., when entering Japanese text into iCloud Memo on Firefox, it appears as a double character. I'm sorry but I haven't taken screen shot.

This is the same on both Mac and Windows. It does not depend on the Japanese input method (IME). Refresh and reinstallation did not resolve the issue. Finally, I reverted to the previous version and the phenomenon was resolved.

From the above, we assume that the problem is caused by some kind of recovery in the latest version.

We are trying to automate updating Firefox ESR from 32bit to 64bit. There seems to be an issue with getting user's profiles to properly migrate for ESR. If we do a plain 32bit uninstall and 64bit installation, a new "default-esr-1" profile gets created (which is expected behavior from these Mozilla docs for new installs). But, when we set the MOZ_LEGACY_PROFILES=1 policy, this reverts to using the "default" profile instead of "default-esr" profile that was previously in use.

Are there any known ways around this which does not require user intervention to manually change back to the "default-esr" profile?

1. I accidentally moved the address bar in Firefox and I cannot get it back where it belongs. This is causing me and inordinate amount of stress. It should be simple. I want the address bar back at the top. Not in the middle, and half way to the right of the screen. 2. Webpages are now displaying with "blank" space on both side of the window. 3. The bookmark bar comes and goes. In the screenshot... it has disappeared again.

Reinstalling Firefox did not help at all. Please help... this is stressing me out far more than it should.....

I experience an issue, where opening and/or saving .ics calendar files attached in the emails is not possible. Instead it is opened or saved as text or HTML. There is no issue on using another mail clients/webmail. Is this common issue or only from my mail provider? (infomaniak)
