I cannot change the location the built in VPN uses from "recommended". There doesnt seem to be other options for me to select. I'm aware the feature is still in beta, but this seems like a core function that I just can't use for some reason.

Does any of the mods know when the VPN for android will be available in the rollout regions ? I tried to connect and the toggle is now greyed out showing connecting..... Thank you

Thunderbird not connecting to server. It says timds out and an error occurred connecting to mobile.charter.net. I can neither send or receive emails. This started 8/20/2026

I get connection error: the certificate for imap.mymts.net does not come from a trusted source. Click to open security settings. I got my emails this morning but not now this afternoon?

Thunderbird is losing connection with mobile,charter.net. The message from Thunderbird is 'connection to mobile.charter.net timed out' Inbox mail stops, and some of the last mail has no content only the message header. This happens at the same time on Linux mint, Apple OSX and Win 10 pro with updates. When this incident only occurs with Thunderbird. The failure occurs for days at a time. Last outage was for 4 days. Started working again about 24 hrs ago and its just failed again. these are two separate email accounts. I also installed Outlook on the Win platform and Apple mail on Osx. They work just fine.

Receive the following error message whenever I attempt to reply to or forward an e-mail

"Send Message Error. Sending of the message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to the Outdoing server (SMTP) mail.thorneplumbing.com timed out. Try again"

This has been going on for some time now, but does not happen when I use Thunderbird on my i-phone. Just on a PC. Please advise.

I downloaded the version on the site but I can't get it to accept my password all I get each time is this at the top of the box

Just how am I supposed to understand what that means. I would be grateful for any help you can give I've been using Thunderbird for over 25 years without any problems, I had to reinstall Windows and now I've got this problem.

I keep getting authentication failure while connecting to server for different accounts every time I start thunderbird. It's usually just one and sometimes 2 accounts that fail. When I click on the individual accounts they start working just fine. I get this for yahoo, gmail, outlook and a couple of others. Something to do with the initial start of thunderbird I think.

Getting re conn ected is confusing. I never intend to be dis connected. I am 83 and technology has left me behind. But I was, in control of what I do know. I just want my Fire Fox back. And I'm considering re activating my Yahoo. Google seems to be too difficult now - a - days. Not interested in learning AI. Please help me get my Fire Fox Back!I'm pleased with Fire Fox. THANK YOU. Starting yesterday for no apparent reason TB has been unable to connect to my email accounts. (IMAP or POP). These include Roadrunner, Gmail and Outlook.

Any Ideas? James

The Firefox built-in VPN option appeared for me about a week ago, maybe two; I don’t know whether it only just reached me in the rollout, or whether Firefox highlighted it because of the “more bandwidth” promotion. Either way, I activated it. But then, three days ago, I noticed that my browsing was no longer going through a VPN, and that the VPN settings had all disappeared from Firefox.

I’m in Australia. I’m signed into my Firefox account. I’ve tried signing out and back in; restarting this device; and doing as many steps from the Support article “Unable to find the built-in VPN in Firefox” as I could, given that it gives instructions for desktop Firefox, not Android. In particular, I removed one study—not the one named in the article, but a different one with “holdback” in the name (something like “long term holdback H1”).

Any time I try to load a webpage on Firefox, I get the error which states "Firefox can’t connect to the server". This occurs when the DNS over HTTPS setting is set to 'off' or 'default'. When the DNS over HTTPS is set to 'custom', the error displayed is "Firefox can’t protect your request for this site’s address through our secure DNS provider. Here’s why: Firefox wasn’t able to connect to firefox.dns.nextdns.io." (it's the same for next DNS or cloudfare).

When I initially opened the DNS over HTTPS settings, this message was displayed: "DNS over HTTPS is not working because we encountered an error (NS_ERROR_CONNECTION_REFUSED) while trying to use the provider Cloudflare". However, this message went away and I have not been able to replicate it.

I have already tried everything suggested in the support article "Firefox can't load websites but other browsers can". I do not have any antivirus software installed. I reconfigured the proxy settings to no proxy. I changed the IPv6 settings. I changed the DNS Prefetching settings. Nothing has worked.

Safari works perferctly fine, Chrome is giving me similar errors.

I have settings from Greenby to set up server connections for a new account. They are validated by thunderbird but, after, entering my greenby password, generates the error, below, which greenby claims is a thunderbird problem.

Sometime in the last week or two, every page starts with a banner that says "you must sign in to the internet to continue". I'm already/always signed in. On those few occasions when I click on the network login link (rather than clicking X to dismiss this dangerous and wrong banner), it shows a very dangerous site and says that site is prohibited. (As it should be.) So why is the banner demanding that I log in (forcing me to click X to dismiss it)? This feels like your site has been compromised, that some malicious actor is forcing this prompt on every page. (And even after I click X to dismiss it, it reappears 10-15 minutes later.
