I _do_ need a backup of settings, passwords, pgp keys, to move to another workstation. It is unclear what exactly is exported.

I have been using Mozilla Thunderbird for decades and they have even contributed a small amount of money to Thunderbird periodically. Just within the last two or three days all of a sudden I have been unable to send emails with my phone. I receive emails, but I do not send them. So I opened up a laptop where I did not have Thunderbird and set it up properly through Spectrum using the incoming and outgoing servers as mail.twc.com. and yes, just like on my phone. I continue to receive new emails, but even with the laptop I was unable to send an email. I received the message"send message error sending a message failed. The message could not be sent because the connection to outgoing server smtp mail.twc.com was lost in the middle of the transaction. Try again."I contacted Spectrum twice and both times they had me try to send a message through their Web server spectrum.net and that message did go through. Of course then their response is that this has to be a problem with the third-party app meaning Mozilla Thunderbird, and they can’t help with that at all. I sure would appreciate some help because I hate to walk away from Thunderbird as well as change my email address after all of these decades.

Thunderbird: Suddenly links in emails are behaving very strangely. Whenever I click on a link, the Inbox window is selected and the link is essentially ignored.

The Facebook page on Firefox has the "fly-outs' overlapping the base page instead of the 'fly-out" appearing in a separate tab. When I use Chrome, which I do not want to, the "Fly-out" pops up correctly. I do not want to switch to Chrome ... How can this be fixed? Thank you!

One of my two outlook email accounts no longer appears in Thunderbird, which says it is authenticated but not connected. This happened suddenly. I can still get the messages by going onto outlook.com. How do I get it back on Thunderbird?

I love the browser and use it daily with Android phone and Linux laptop.

Concerning the new Android version, it is great. But please, bring back the select all tabs function. I like to save and backup my tabs by sharing them externally, and selecting them one by one is a very slow process.

certificate for imap <edited>@peternedsmith.co.uk is not valid, someone could be trying to impersonate the server and you should not continue, on clicking the more info, on the panel that comes up, if I click on get certificate, the selections below get greyed out and nothing happens, I have viewed the certificate, and it appears to be from the US, I have taken a screenshot of the top part of it, which is below. I use the same e-mail address on my desktop and my Samsung android phone. I was told to change my desktop e-mail from POP3 to IMAP which I did and then told by the Thunderbird desktop forum to change also my phone settings from POP3 to IMAP. I was told in order to do that I needed to create a new account first and then delete the old account.

However, when I go into server settings and I put in my e-mail address from my desktop, it states "e-mail address already in use". Clearly I do not want to create a new e-mail address - just use the same e-mail address that is on my desktop so that I can access e-mails on my phone that appear on my desktop. Help please!

My thanks again to sfhowes, Rick and others for assisting me to get back my ability to once again send e-mails from Thunderbird. Now for the next step.

Just days ago, I migrated my years of Thunderbird e-mails on a POP protocol to IMAP. Before doing so and before also uninstalling my old Thunderbird because of e-mail sending problems and then reinstalling a new version, I saved a profile. Now with the most current version of Thunderbird, I lost (i)a decades worth of saved inbox e-mails (but for the last 2 years), (ii)I lost all of my sent e-mails but a few odd ones, (iii)I lost my archived e-mails in Local Folders and (iv) I lost all of my contacts and saved group e-mail address lists.

My profile is saved on an external hard drive. Obviously the new installed version of Thunderbird must have somehow found the last 2 years of my inbox e-mails but nothing beyond that as mentioned above. Can you share please a recommended procedure where I can better import what I assume I saved correct on the profile I saved twice (I saved a master folder named Profile and separately saved 4 folders - 2 folders ending in default and 2 ending in default-release. I first installed Video Download Helper several weeks ago and it worked fine. However, since the update of 04 March, 2026, it no longer works with YouTube. (It does, however, still work with Instagram.) Having checked all of the settings (which I had/have not changed), I uninstalled it today and then re-installed it. This hasn't helped. With YouTube, the Downloader icon (pinned to toolbar) simply remains grey and does not show any videos when opened. I am using the latest, fully updated version of Firefox with Windows 10.

Can anyone help, please?

I am a TB user (for work) and i love it, the main reason being the fact that it's simple, compared to MS Outlook, for example. Easy to use, intuitive for new users, and so on. So congrats to everyone for keeping it simple! :)

Now, an issue i've come across recently. More and more people send documents as .jpeg, pictures taken by smartphones. And, as everyone knows, the recent models have increased the MB of each camera. And most people sadly keep the max resolution, best quality, like you'd use when going on a holiday. But you don't need this when you take a picture of an invoice or a gas receipt. This results in very large attachments, esp. when you add several pics to an email.

The current limit seems to be 25MB (i got this from Google, didn't see any mention of a limit in TB help?!). So my question is simple: can I, a user, increase this limit somehow? Or is it a dev related setting? If users can, please guide me through some options/menus because i haven't found any. I use the latest version, 140.8.0esr. A realistic limit, imho, would be 100MB/email.

Also, kindly please keep feedback on topic, I am not interested in sharing, or sending in any other ways, like wetransfer, google drive, one drive, etc.

yes, althouth i have mozilla firefox as the default in my T moblile adroid.main settings, but when i click on mozilla app and do a search, default in address bar is Google?. do you have URL path so I can add it to the list.( e.g. we have Google Bing, Duck, Perplexity, etc, but No Mozilla Firefox to select). thank you

Firefox 148.01 on Android 10, when attempting to save a page in a bookmark subfolder I click the 3 dots, save bookmark comes up, I click on it, then I click on bookmarks edit which appears a few seconds on the bottom of the page and than it says bookmarks and underneath new folder, my subfolders don't show up anymore. So I can only save under bookmarks or underneath start a new folder. I don't see a way of moving the page from bookmarks to the subfolders either.
