can not import bookmarks

i love firefox. not once has it crashed...where internet explorer crashes 4 times an hour! :) i am submitting this as I had A LOT of add-ons and one ended up being a phishing scam...it would cause key words to be underlined and on mouse-over it would show a link to some advertisement, and when hitting the question mark in the pop up box it went to navlink.com. i believe believe it or not that it was the add on - do not track me.or disconnect me. one of the two. i ended up deleting everything and reinstalling Firefox as i also had the all-in-one sidebar...it used to display my downloads as they were downloading but then that stooped working.. i don't know what i did but i will be more careful when adding things and whatnot.. . i backed up my bookmarks using both the backup and export options. however upon reinstalling, i could not load my bookmarks back into Firefox. this was very disappointing as i had ALOT of bookmarks. i am sending this plus more in the support section. but even though i lost hundreds of bookmarks, i will still be continuing to use Firefox. chrome became so ridden with garbage that i deleted that too! it's too bad Mozilla still doesn't design Netscape. that's the first browser i ever used, version 1.2 waaayyyyy back in the late 80's i believe

all in all, thanks for the best browser there is. if i could send my bookmarks file it generated and see if it can be fixed so I can import/restore it that would be great~!! watson.danny@live.com

Hello,

Firefox automatically creates backups of your bookmarks, which can be helpful if your bookmarks are lost or missing. To recover them, follow the instructions below.

  1. Use one of these methods to open the Bookmarks Library window:
    • Click the Firefox button to open the menu and click on Bookmarks.
    • Click the Bookmarks menu and click on Show All Bookmarks.
  2. At the top of the Library window, click the "Import and Backup" menu and select Restore.
  3. Click the date of the bookmark backup you want to recover.
  4. In the new window that appears, click OK.
  5. Your bookmarks from the selected date should now be restored.
