How to I rollback after update erased bookmarks and new version cannot access web?

I updated firefox a few days ago, but did not restart the program until today. Actually it crashed, and when it came back up, the new version was apparent. It will not dial out, and all of my firefox bookmarks appear to be gone. There are IE bookmarks which i imported to the firefox browser on this machine long long ago when i first installed firefox, but the firefox boomarks [the ones that i have bookmarked over the years when using firefox as my primary browser] do not appear in the bookmarks tab. I put off the browswer upgrade for a very long time, but i continued to receive update notifications, so i finally upgraded. I should have just turned off the notifications and continued on, and tht is what i will do next time. Please walk me through either a rollback to the previous version or a remedy on the new version in order to retrieve my bookmarks and access the web using my preferred browser, firefox.

Your firefox profile is (most likely) located at the following location:


it sounds like you have multiple profiles as you say old bookmarks are appearing. Otherwise, you would have to restore this directory from backup. If you have previous versions turned on in windows OS, then you could right click on the folder and go to "previous versions" tab for the automatic backup.

Its possible the other profile is there somewhere in that directory. If you have multiple user profiles, take a look a the boomarks.html file to find the correct one.
