Hi. Every time I open Firefox it stays on the homepage for two seconds, then it exits and shows the "Firefox has crashed" window. Usually, I can restart the program in Safe Mode and then it works just fine, but I can't be on Safe Mode forever! I've tried restarting my computer, resetting Firefox, searching the Support site for answers, but nothing works. My version is 14.0.1 and it's up to date.

This is getting really annoying, help please?

For anyone experiencing crashes on the Google Homepage, for now it is best to set your home page to something else (like about:home, which also provides a Google Search Box), until these doodle's are gone, or a Firefox fix is released (whichever comes first). We will fix this issue so it doesn't happen again in the future, but the current set of doodles may be gone before then.

Hey Amaterasu30 and welcome to the Mozilla Forums. :)

Please run Firefox's Safe Mode by going to Firefox>Help>Restart with Add-ons Disabled... and see if the issue persists.

Please post back and let me know how that goes.

I have the same problem. Firefox will only run in the safe mode. The problem started about three days ago. All of my Add-ons have been updated. I've also tried running with them disabled.

If you are using google.com as your homepage, change it to something else (like maybe a blank page) until Google stops using their silly Olympic games doodle. Those games can suckup to 100% of CPU cycles, if the "game" doesn't cause Firefox to crash before the page or doodle even appears.

Clearly Mozilla has some work to do on HTML5 CSS animated images.

Thanks

I too have had Firefox for years and NEVER had an issue (was using V14) until a few days ago. I had my homepage set to google and only in the past 2 or 3 days have I had an issue - I would open firefox and almost IMMEDIATELY it would close saying firefox crashed. Does this have something to do with their olympic animations as the above user said?? I even upgraded to the 15.0 Beta version and am STILL having the same issue! :( I ended up having to go into control panel to my Flash Player settings, click on check now for updates to at least open firefox on the Adobe Flash homepage to get it up at least then I was at least able to switch my homepage to NPR instead of Google and now I am on (obviously!). I submitted crash reports but never heard back from Mozilla. Is this being researched? What is the root cause and will there be a fix? I am also on the latest version of Flash (11.3.300.270) so that should not be an issue. Please advise ASAP. Thank you

I don't use addons, it doesn't crash when I am on a google page. Firefox always crashes when I am trying to fill in government forms, to download reputable programs and checking emails. It is EXTREMELY frustrating!!! It happens up to a dozen times a day. I have 2 laptops and it happens on both.

I'm having the same problem as well - started crashing multiple times an hour. Was most noticable on the google homepage, but also on maps, as well as other pages. Have updated, reinstalled firefox, and add-ons without solution. A few of the error logs below. Please help!

The crash you are experiencing seems to be caused by the Yandex bar, do you have that installed?

more options

Nope, no Yandex bar installed.

Just as a test, crate a new Firefox profile and see if this crash still happens there. If it does, please create a new thread. Profile Manager - Create, remove or switch Firefox profiles

more options

Just tried to create a new profile and the crash has continued to happen there. You would like me to create a new thread with the same subject that firefox is crashing? Thanks

more options

Yes please :) crashes are caused by different things, so a new thread will help us properly diagnose your problem.

Thanks - I have started a new thread and posted more information there: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/938759 Including system information and more crash reports. Thanks!

For the last 3 days my FF keeps crashing. I have no idea why it never did this before and nothing new has been added into my browser. It really sucks especially when I have a movie dling for two hours or I am working..
