I used Software Update on my OSX Lion Mac to upgrade to Java 1.6.0_31-b04-413. The update showed as successful and that is the version shown in the Java Preferences utility. I rebooted afterwards and have restarted Firefox many times, but Firefox 'about:plugins' still shows an outdated version (14.2.0) and and applet versions of 1.1.3, 1.2.2, 1.5, 1.3.1, 1.3, 1.1.2, 1.1, 1.2.1, 1.6, 1.4.2, 1.4, 1.1.1, 1.2, and an applet jpi version of 1.6.0_29. The check for updated plugins also shows that I am not using the current version and tells me to update to 1.6.0_31, which I have already done. I have tried rebuilding the Firefox plugins database and that didn't solve it. Any thoughts on how to get Firefox to see and use the upgraded Java on my Mac?
