Works in Explorer only not in Firefox nhs email options disappear

My wife laptop brand new i7 Acer can only use explorer which is slow even on the i7 to access her works email at home properly. Firefox opens the site and mails ok but a critical menu options which shows on the Explorer browser and at her work doesn't show in Firefox or other non Explorer browsers. Does anyone have any ideas what stops some options not showing in when she accesses through Firefox !
