My firefox browser lately kept showing up warning sign of "contains unauthenticated content" in the padlock icon whenever I opened up sign in page in HTTPS web pages.

I didn't have this problem with other browser e.g like google chrome.

I even try reinstall firefox yet the problem still persists.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.

  • "Clear the Cache": Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
  • "Remove the Cookies" from sites causing problems: Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Hi Cor-el

Thanks for reply

a) I have cleared all the cache and cookies. b) Changed the theme to default in safe mode and reboot my pc

But still have this pad lock sign with warning "contains unauthenticated content"whenever I was in any https sign in page ( support.mozilla.com sign in page included) and when I clicked the icon ,it pops a window saying connection partially encrypted

According to firefox, it is not safe to send any unencrypted data across the net as it can be viewed by anyone while in transition.

This problem came to my attention perhaps around a month back. I have been using firefox for quite some time.It is a good browser but right now the only way to avoid this problem is to use another browser for the time being while waiting for further technical assistance to solve it. Hope the support team is able to figure it out soon.

Many thanks frank

The problem is solved by disable the similarweb addon item and now the padlock sign back to normal and all https pages is fully encrypted . I suspect some scripts problem occurred when the similarweb addon is switched on.
