What's the meaning of the MD5 hash in the 'general' tab when viewing certificate?
When viewing the certificate while visiting a website using a HTTPS connection, the 'general' tab shows an MD5 and SHA-1 hash. I find this quite strange (misleading) since the certificate has only been signed with a SHA1 hash. I also noticed that the SHA-1 hash in the 'general' tab is not the same as the SHA-1 hash of the certificated ('details' tab). What's the exact meaning of the MD5 and SHA-1 hashes in the 'general' tab?
