Hi! This sounds like an issue with the SEOmoz toolbar. Are you logged into your SEOmoz account? If you use the toolbar, make sure you are logged into your SEOmoz account and turn on 3rd party cookies. Hopefully this will fix the problem. Thanks! Jen Lopez Community Manager, SEOmoz

I've not SeoMoz account. And i've not installed SeoMoz toolbar. But even i've checked in Control Panel> Add/Remove Programs. But not found SeoMoz toolbar installation there. And i've also checked in Tools>Add-ons , but nothing found. Then what is the solution to this problem?

Hi! I'm wondering if you have an extension or toolbar installed that uses the SEOmoz API? If you don't have the SEOmoz toolbar installed, do you have any other SEO addons or extensions?

I am using 2 Toolbars Quirk Search Status 1.33 and Alexa Toolbar. Both for more than 2 months. But this problem occured only 2 days ago. You can check my system details for more info.

Does disabling either of those help?

We've made a fix on our end, can you confirm that you're no longer seeing the issue?

I am getting clobbered by this - it is awful.

Hireclix, please do you have any additional info? It is an addon that is accessing our API incorrectly or with the wrong information. If you could let us know which other SEO addons you have that would be helpful.

Hello again! We believe we have made a fix on our end. Please can someone who was having the issue confirm that it has stopped? You may need to start a new session/browser. Thanks! Jen Lopez, Community Manager, SEOmoz

Hello everyone.

Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not caused by one (or more than one) of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in safe mode (don't forget to select Disable all add-ons when you start safe mode). If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See this article for information about troubleshooting extensions and themes and this one for plugins.

If you need support for one of your add-ons, you'll have to contact its author.

If the problem is not disappears when all add-ons are disabled, please tell me, so we can work from there. Please have no fear of following my instructions to the line, as all can be easily undone.

I'm not entirely sure that my problem is the same, but I have an issue with my bank here in France, LCL, which asked me to install a "certificate" and asked for a password, only now, any time I go to a site that requires a password, there's a popup from LCL that pre-empts it. Firefox has lost/blocked my stored passwords and I am at my wits' end.

I finally deleted everything, tried to delete all Firefox files, all Mozilla folders on my Mac. Then I re-downloaded Firefox: there is still the popup that blocks everything.

I'm really depressed, because I've lost all of my stored passwords, some of which I don't have written down anywhere, and I can't use Firefox anymore. I'm using Safari, but I don't like it.

Well, if you deleted everything, it's quite obvious that you'll be missing everything. I never asked you to do that, and I never do, because it is completely unnecessary. You simply have to create a new profile and it will be as if you had reinstalled Firefox completely, only you will still have access to your own profile. Of course, you will need to reinstall Firefox too, if that's your desire.

In any case, if the popup appears after reinstalling Firefox and using a new profile, the problem is not in Firefox itself. Check your startup programs for anything that may be causing this. Also, scan for malware. To scan for malware, install, update and run these programs in this order. They are all free for personal use, but some have limited functionality in their "free mode", but the features you'll miss are not really needed to find and remove the problem you have. Remember that not all programs detect the same malware!

If these don't find it or can't clear it, please tell me and I'll provide you with further assistance.

Hi...

The issue persists. I still have the popup message asking me to key in a username and password. I am unable to isolate what could be the exact plugin that is causing this issue. I can list the plug-in I have, if someone would want that.

Regards

I see that prompt as well - A username and password are being requested by http://lsapi.seomoz.com. The site says: SEOmoz

By any chance, do you use W.A.S.P. (web analytics solution provider)? I'm hunching the prompt may be coming from there as I do not have seomoz addins or toolbars installed. Since it is is to an API apparently and WASP does have an SEO pane ....

Looks like it's a problem with WASP, we are looking into the issue, watch for a version higher then 2.2.16. it should be later on today

Had the same problem. Found a solution for my specific system.

I used the seitwert.de-Plugin (a german SEO-Tool). It seems, that this plugin also used the SEOmoz-Plugin in it.

So try to uninstall every plugin, that COULD use it - i think other people also had the same problem, because of not noticing another SEO-Plugin could be the problem.

Hope i could help someone!

Best wishes from Berlin!
