gemini visual aids do not display
I use a paid for subscription to Gemini AI. It often creates "visuals" for me apparently using JSON code. These do not show up at all. Moreover, the buttoms and other UI controls do not display well in Firefox. Is there a way to fix this?

Well support folks are usually not diagnosing platform compatibility issues all day long, so this would be slightly unfair to them;]
Feel free to mark some of the earlier replies as the solution though — that helps people surface this thread in case they run into the same. Glad it helped!

Can you show the issue of buttons etc.
Amoun,
I've attached a screen shot of the side panel. You can see the odd text instead of buttons. When Gemini creates visual aids (interactive or static graphs) they don't show up at all.
Thanks in advance for your help!

That's missing/broken images. Might be stuck in network calls or something.
If you use the site in a new Private Window is there any difference?
jbr,
I just tried a private window but still got the same results.
Do you think this is a Firefox issue? Gemini tells me that has something to do with it's JSON code not being accepted or working for me.

No, it's just making things up. You can clearly see you're having issues with any images served from the app, not just the generated payload, but also their static menu interfaces.
Could you please restart the browser into Troubleshoot Mode (from Help menu) to check whether an addon could be blocking some of their content?
I tried troubleshoot mode and restarting....no change. Still obfuscated the buttons dang it!
I do see the same reported, but not even QA engineers were able to figure it out: github.com/webcompat/web-bugs/issues/224984
It was on a Mac so that can potentially rule out any antivirus or security software.
Do you perhaps have access to another network, like your mobile data, if you could try tethering to a hotspot — to see if using another network changes any of that behavior?
I disabled my WiFi connection and tethered via my phone to the T-Mobile network (disabled WiFi on my phone).
Unfortunately got the same result.
Okay this might be a little tricky.
I see the site uses custom components, and actually places the symbols not using images, but by rendering via a custom font called "Luminous Symbols". The reasons why it's not rendering are… a plenty. Do they appear on this test site for you: https://sahariashihab.me/Luminous-symbols/ (you should see the heart shape there)?
It might be that you have the same font installed locally but it's not the necessary/matching version, or it came with some google apps and might have gotten installed badly or multiple times etc.
The first thing however to check is that you have browser settings to allow sites use custom fonts at all:
Ah.... the SVG side displays nicely but the "Local Font" side reveals the problem I see with Gemini. If this is a font compatibility issue, I am unsure of how to correct that aspect on my end. I am running on Windows 11 Home, 25H2
And now success! I went to Firefox settings and clicked the box that allows each page to over-ride the preferred default settings (which were Times New Roman). On allowing that latitude for the sites I visit, bingo! It works.
Thank you for such a professional and patient level of help. Your help has been among the best I'd received from support folks.
Cheers!
Bob
