I think Google is the default before you change the search engine. You can change it by https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/change-your-default-search-settings-firefox

The Google you are seeing in the Firefox web browser is a search engine.

Mozilla the makers of the Firefox web browsers does not have a search engine of their own.
