Google calendar sync is not working
That’s not a new bug for me, I’ve been dealing with this one for a few years new, across multiple PCs and Thunderbird installations: from time to time, some of my appointments disappear from Thunderbird calendar. Forcing a synchronization achieves nothing: the appointments are correctly available on google calendar and are missing from Thunderbird.
From time to time I need to unsubscribe from the google calendar, re-subscribe and for a few days everything is fine. Then appointments start to disappear again… rinse and repeat.
Now, I understand it’s impossible to point out what’s going with so little details, and in fact my question really is: what can I do on my side to identify the root cause of this? Are there error logs I can check or other clues that can help with that?

Is this a CalDAV calendar or managed by something like the Provider add-on?
No CalDAV, no provider (I used both in the past), I'm just using native support, the one activated when using an @gmail.com address in the username field on "New Calendar...".
The native support is actually for CalDAV, just as native support for Contacts is CardDAV.
I don't use the (gmail) calendar enough to say whether the issue is with TB or Google, or if there is a better option than removing it and adding it again. You might see something in the Error Console (Ctrl+Shift+J), but that's a long shot.
The idea is to wait for the issue to resurface, then try to force a synchronization and see if there are relevant errors/anomalies in the console. However, I might need to lower the log level. How can this be done?
This is the only article I know that explains logging, and I don't know if it includes calendars:
