Right, it must be a bug. The team is looking into it.

This happens on Firefox Beta as well to me. Incredibly annoying.

Funny, I just tried installing Beta to see if that worked better. I'm not sure if it happens there, too. I discovered Beta STILL doesn't have a home button, so I uninstalled it.

As for the Play Store opening every time I open Firefox nightly (and Beta I guess?), if I close the Store out about 3 times, it stops for a while. Better than nothing for now I guess. If it's not fixed soon, I suppose I'll look for an earlier APK version to install and turn updates off again.

Thank you for helping to test future updates to Firefox for Android.

Please appreciate that the pre-Release builds in Beta and Nightly may have some unresolved issues. Do you experience the same problem in the main Release build available from the Google Play store?

I resolved it on my phone by doing this. I am running the latest nightly.

1. activate debug mode by settings, about, tap icon until you see the toast for enabling debug
2. settings - nimbus experiments - (scroll to bottom) - tap enable custom review prompt - tap control

This disables that experiment which I believe is what is causing the issue. At least, disabling it resolved the issue on my phone.

I will note that in the secret settings I also disabled the tab manager "enhancements" just in case that is somehow relevant but I doubt it is.

Hi I have the same problem. I have observed the following: This only happens to me when Firefox Nightly is set as default browser. When the "regular" Firefox (143.0.4) is set as default browser both browsers work as expected.

Added later: This only happens when Firefox is set to open "Homepage" as Opening screen. If Firefox i set to open "Last tab", there is no problem.

The latest update to Firefox Nightly fixed the problem for me.
