Think I've asked before, but I'm still having the same issue: in my Firefox (desktop, Windows 11), in the storage\default folder in my profile, there are, today, 5442 files! 416 folders appear here, with each one containing one or more folders ("Is", "idb", and/or "cache"), which, in turn, contain several files each, and a ".metadata-v2" file. The oldest of the 416 folders in 9/16/25. What is all this? I regularly delete all cookies over 30 days old in Manage Data.

They are 1) a different kind of cookie which don't get cleared by the usual methods, and 2) add-on info. You can delete the former at FF menu > Settings > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data > Clear Data button, or delete them from the profile/storage/default folder manually but *do not delete* the ones at the end that begin with moz-extension+++.
