Thank you for your question about the Firefox Sync service.
It appears from your question, that you are using Firefox Sync as a back up service. This is not what Sync is designed to do. The Firefox Sync service takes a copy of the data you wish to include and transfers it to a second device (typically a mobile device such as a tablet or a telephone) running a copy of Firefox. The storage in between all attached devices is both temporary and fragile and is not stable enough to be (and is not designed as) a reliable backup service.
If you have a copy of your Firefox profile for desktop Firefox, you may be able to recover your bookmarks and other data. Please have a read of this article.
If you have a copy of your data on a mobile version of Firefox, please follow these instructions to connect it to Firefox Sync to copy your data.

But in chrome i simply logged in and all my passwords and bookmarks are in my browser now. i dont need to do anything.
My Old laptop is formatted , i was thinking all my passwords and bookmarks are on cloud , like in chrome. and its a standard thing these days in all browsers. Where all my data gone?
What is the use of firefox Sync feature than.
What will happen to my data(pass bookmarks etc) if my laptop stolen or broke.
In Chrome all my data is safe even if my laptop is stolen or broke.
Firefox was always my first choice, and i loved it, but now i have to change it to chrome We are facing so many issues with Firefox these days.

Firefox Sync is designed to sync data between two copies of Firefox on different devices. It is not a cloud backup service.
Chrome is also not cloud backup service, Firefox Sync feature is useless if i dont get my bookmarks and password after i lose my laptop
In all browser(Chrome, edge, safari) i recovered my bookmarks and password except firefox.
If you have your data in another browser, you can import it into Firefox. This support article should help:

World moved on and you are unable to provide this basic feature. i lost all my passwords this is the reason chrome has 70% users and you only have 2% users even after 30 yrs
