Whenever this comes up and I reinstall Firefox, I can't get all of my data back. It's just stuff from a long time ago and I end up losing a lot of my bookmarks. This is the second time it's happened and I'd like to know how I can prevent it, or at least how to get all my recent stuff back. Thanks.

Best way to get data back is to backup your profile and store it elsewhere. There is much info in this forum to direct you on what files to worry about. I have no idea what your shortcut is, that like a script? How are you installing - with windows? How/why would windows move firefox? You can't change the shortcut?

Yeah I copied the data of my profile after it happened just in case. I am installing with windows. I'm not sure why or how it would move it, and as far as I know I wasn't able to do anything to the shortcut.
