I'm amazed, just AMAZED I can't find the answer to this with a simple google search, or searching the questions here, and I re-worded my search several times. All the answers I could find, even chatGPT (I know it's not alway sup to date) told me to use this option even though I specifically told it it wasn't there, is anyone aware that sometimes the option isn't there? What gives? Not blaming anyone specifically, but this a really simple question, I'm I the first person it's ever happened to?

I'm trying to fix a sound problem where videos will not play, and this is a suggested step. The sound on youtube videos plays with Google Chrome, so it's not my sound drivers, just with firefox it doesn't play. One of the steps as well was the clear my info, I cleared everything except history, I wished there was a way to back those up, I'll look it up.

Starting firefox in safe mode doesn't fix the problem either.

See:

You can remove all data stored in Firefox for a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox for this domain like history and cookies and passwords and exceptions and cache, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data for that domain that you do not want to lose, make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website, data for that website will be saved once again.

Some time ago, the menu item changed to:

Help > Troubleshoot Mode...

Also, ChatGPT often spouts nonsense, but you probably figured that out by now...

I figured there was a change, how should I have searched for it, though? Yes, ChatGPT does get a lot of things wrong (try asking it something you already know for sure)

Finding a thread that has specific information about a menu change would be pure luck. It's simpler to post a question about your problem.

Can you hear audio on other sites (other than YouTube), whether they are video sites like Vimeo or audio-only sites like Spotify?

I restarted my system and fixed the problem. Just I get lots of people telling me just to google to find the answer, I wouldn't have posted this thread if I could find out that way, and it's not the only thing I haven't been able to find with google.
