Label Print Problem since last update 7/26/22

more options

I'm have a problem with the setting for label printing since the last update. I know it's firefox because I went on safari and it worked fine. I have tried to go to firefox print setting, it is marked correct, but it's printing label's 10 times the size. on labels and even on letter size paper. I've tried to restart firefox and my computer. I also checked my computer settings, but firefox is overriding any settings. So what is going on firefox????

PM-241-BT is the label printer, but the pdf download is coming from AOL mail (yes I know old school lol) I had somewhat of the same problem on the last update before this one, was able to report it( many times) but it got resolved

No updates for it. It works fine to print if I go through Safari browser, just not firefox. I've checked firefox settings, it shows correct. It also prints wrong label size on a regular laser printer on just letter size paper. So again it's firefox. Thanks for your reply's to help

This can be caused by a mismatch between the resolution (number of dots) Firefox thinks your printer wants and the number it actually wants. To rule that out, try clearing all the accumulated (unnecessary) resolution settings:

(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter/Return. Click the button accepting the risk.

More info on about:config: Configuration Editor for Firefox. The moderators would like us to remind you that changes made through this back door aren't fully supported and aren't guaranteed to continue working in the future. This particular setting is obsolete.

(2) In the search box in the page, type or paste print_resolution and pause while the list is filtered

(3) If any row has a value other than 0 (zero), click the trash can at the right end to clear that data.

On the next print, Firefox should use whatever Windows says is the proper resolution instead of what it had stored before.

I've cleared preprint settings in firefox settings, no help. So I'm not clear on what page I should paste that to generate print resolutions?

Ok, I understand I missed a step, did it, nothing showed up, it's cleared, most likely when I cleared it in trouble shooting window. So still no help.

Thank you for checking that.

I assume the Scaling is either "Fit to page width" or 100. Does the paper size look sensible for the labels you're using?

I guess it's also possible that the PDF is weirdly sized. You can use the little overflow menu button to check on the paper size of the PDF for comparison:

Property for doc is 103mm x 153.8mm portrait, so 4 1/6 inch x 6.29/64inch label size, but still not what it's printing in firefox, plus now that I cleared the previous settings, I lost the ability to choose 2 sided printing. It's just getting worse as I go.

So in the several hours after my last reply to you, two other Mac users reported problems printing PDFs. They had an image-specific issue: the images within the PDF were way too large but stayed within their original boundaries, causing loss of content. You may be experiencing a different manifestation of the same issue if your label is an image embedded in a PDF.

There is a bug on file with the developers, but for now, I think you need to print from Preview or Acrobat or Safari and not from Firefox. Hopefully we'll get a workaround (or a quick fix, if we're very lucky).
