Hi Josh, as a Windows user, I wasn't aware that Mac users could re-order windows. How does that (normally) work? (I'm used to switching between windows in the order of recent use, so for example, switching between the two most recently used windows with Alt+Tab; on Mac, I think Command+Tab is similar.)

Also, the inability to delete bookmarks, and to close the bookmark window after selecting "show all bookmarks," remains a persistent frustration that I am surprised has not been addressed.

I have not heard anyone else mention that they couldn't close the Library window. What method are you using to try to close it, for example, Command+W or clicking a toolbar button?

If you try to delete a bookmark and it's "un-deleteable" I wonder whether that could be related to Sync. You could try disconnecting from your Firefox account as a test to see whether that allows you to delete bookmarks.

Open Firefox's Troubleshooting Information page using any of these methods:

• (menu bar) Help > More Troubleshooting Information
• "3-bar" menu button > Help > More Troubleshooting Information
• type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter

Near the bottom, there is a section titled Places Database -- that's the file which stores history and bookmarks. Click the button labeled Verify Integrity. There may be a 10-15 second delay before results appear.

If all is well, the report that appears below the button should start with:

+ The places.sqlite database is sane
+ The favicons.sqlite database is sane
> Task: invalidateCaches
+ The caches have been invalidated
> Task: checkCoherence
+ The database is coherent

Does yours say that, or something else? You can select and copy the report, and then paste it into a reply for review and comment.

I don't think that Firefox has ever supported sorting windows in the Mac Window menu drop down list as this is a feature that has been asked about in the past several times, if that is what your question is about.

What Firefox version were you using before updating to 78.15.0?

Note that 78.15.0 is the last version for your Mac OS X 10.10 platform, so you will no longer receive updates.

I didn't realize when I selected "problem solved," it would associate the solution with one of these suggestions. The solution turned out to be an OS update to Mojave 10.14.6. Now I can again three-finger swipe down to see all open windows. From that vantage, I can click on and drag open windows to reorder them relative to each other, so again I am able to move a word processing window next to my web browser window for quick movement between the two (by three-finger swiping side to side, for you non-Apple users). It occurs to me that this was likely an APPLE issue, as it is a function outside the web browser.

On the issue of not being able to close the Firefox bookmarks window, the Mojave update solved that as well. Now when I select "show all bookmarks," a window with the red and green buttons in the top left corner appears, allowing me to simply click the red button to close the window. Not sure why that doesn't appear on older Apple OS systems, though.

There should be some links/buttons to the right side of or below various posts to mark or unmark as the solution, so you can update your last reply to be the solution.

The link/buttons I see to the right, three square vertically stacked, allow me to "Report Abuse" or "Quote." Below are only the "Helpful?" thumbs-up or down. I do also have the option of "editing post," but only on those I've authored.
