Search bar on new tab page now duplicates URL bar, making search queries containing a ":" impossible

The latest update 89.0b3 broke my entire workflow and actually leaves me wondering, if programmers at Mozilla never search the web for errors - am I the only one getting errors during compile time? It's now nearly impossible to use Firefox efficiently to search for errors during coding. As can be seen in your press screenshots (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/about-new-tab-page) there used to be a "Search the web" bar on the new tab page in addition to the "Search or enter web address" URL bar. As their descriptions say, the search bar always triggered a web search - this is a feature i regularly used (~50 times on a work day), which has now been removed. Why? Because Firefox often recognizes my search queries as keywords to trigger the system handler, because they contain a ":". This is often the case with error messages of compilers, as in "ImportError: cannot import name". Instead, both bars show the same description "Search or enter web address" and work the same. Please tell me, how can I restore my search-only-bar, or is a bug report needed to revert changes/introduce a configuration option?
