YouTube interface changed

I recently signed up for YouTube Premium. The interface for YouTube then changed to an absolutely awful new interface with multiple problems. I could (and will if asked) provide a list of these shortcomings, but far and away the most disturbing is NO VOLUME CONTROL!

I've tried logging out so that Premium no longer applies, but the awful interface remains.

I've tried logging into Premium on Chrome and the normal, useable interface is preserved.

I've performed multiple internet searches and cannot find any reference to this new(?) terrible interface, am I the only one who hast it?

My main question is: how do I get rid of it? Or do I have to reconcile myself to having to change my default browser to Chrome?
