Hi, If I install Firefox 83 and from "about:config" I customize some settings manually, and later upgrade Firefox to the newer versions, hopefully the settings will not be reset or changed back to the default? Thanks.

Hi, no, updating Firefox won't normally reset or change any about:config settings that you have altered. The only exception would be if the developers needed to do it to any entries that were relevant to something new in the latest version, but for the vast majority of settings that is unlikely to happen.
