Firefox is installed in two locations. C:/program files/mozilla firefox C:/users/xxxx/appdata/local/mozilla firefox

They each have their own bookmarks and settings. I don't want this. How do I fix it?

Can I uninstall both of them and delete the respective folders and then install a fresh one? or what?

Hi,

Another person has had this same issue on the forum and their question was answered, so you should try out their solution.

Do you have more than one version of Firefox installed?

I have two installs of the same version - both version 81.0.2 I am new to Windows 10 and still clumsy at doing anything. I only see one Firefox in Apps & features - it does not show any path - so if I uninstall it there which one gets uninstalled?

I only want the Firefox in the Program Files folder and not the one in the Users folder.

The Users path is in the registry in about a hundred places so I don't want to just delete the folder I renamed the Users folder from C:/users/xxxx/appdata/local/mozilla firefox to C:/users/xxxx/appdata/local/mozilla fhony This broke my default browser setting which must have been pointed at that one so I just set it to the Program Files one.

I have not found anything else broken.

I would like to get that Users install off my computer in a clean way.

I did find a bug reported where if you install it when you have Admin permissions it tends to put it in the Users folder without giving you any choices. However this was supposed to be fixed back in 2015. It doesn't seem fixed to me.

Yeah, thank you so much. I'll try a better forum.
