Managing 1100 tabs via savable tab groups

I have, I am embarrassed to say, about 1,100 tabs open. A surprisingly high proportion of them are actually relevant to current projects or ongoing interests. As a result, when I set out to close a lot of them, I constantly run into things I need to do, and often end up with more open than I started with. Also as a result, my tabs are decreasingly useful to me, because of all the haystacks I have piled on whatever needle I currently want.

What I would like to do is this: 1. Group. Take my thousand tabs apart into project-related groups of a more sensible size. 2. Save. Name and save each group. 3. Open clean. Turn off the setting that reopens all tabs that were open when you closed Firefox, so that all I see when I open Firefox are my homepage and pinned tabs. 4. Open group. Be able to open only one or more saved tab groups. Ideally I'd like to be able to open a group into either the current or a new window. If I had to choose, I would much prefer to open each group to its own window.

Over the two decades or so that I have been using Firefox, I have set out to do this multiple times, both with Firefox itself and with various add-ons. I have never reached the point that I could do all four of the things above, and without all four, I don't have what I need to decompose my huge mass of tabs into meaningful components. I'm not saying there has not been a way, only that I have not found it or figured it out.

I suspect there is a way to do this native to Firefox. Is there? If so, could you point me toward instructions on how to do so? If not, is there an add-on that would let me do this? Again, I am looking for something that lets me do all four: group, save, open to a clean page, and open single tab groups in a new window. I welcome pointers to add-ons that will do this, but only from people who have actually used that add-on and know it can do everything I am asking. I have tried numerous add-ons that looked to me like they would work, but I have never been able to execute all four pieces. And I am not going to do step 3 until I have the other three down solid, as that would throw away all my current tabs. Thanks! I look forward to hearing from you. Warmest regards, Beanxx
