When I link to my.yahoo.com, I get a "malicious site blocked" message for site moz-extension://fe8e5b66-56d9-6b45-a05f-2dc7f49d8acd/content/ui/blockedPage.html?originalURL=https://mf70e.rdtk.io/5f2a7f84cc769d00016b71e5?sub1=3&sub2=mail.yahoo.com&sub3=1269447&sub4=1483375841823380919&sub5=250&sub6=&sub7=2607467&sub8=5731607&blockPageType=IPS&IpsSignature=31349. What can I do?

What about accessing Yahoo! mail from the Yahoo home page? Same problem?

One possible culprit would be an extension. You can view, disable, and often remove unwanted or unknown extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:

  • Command+Shift+a (Windows: Ctrl+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions. On the right side, find the "Manage Your Extensions" heading.

If there is at least one extension before the next heading -- "Recommended Extensions" -- please continue:

Then cast a critical eye over the list below that heading. Any extensions Firefox installs for built-in features are hidden from this page, so everything listed here is your choice (and your responsibility) to manage. Anything suspicious or that you just do not remember installing or why? If in doubt, disable (or remove). For your privacy and security, don't let mystery programs linger here.

Any improvement?

Hi bahinl, do you use Norton security software? I see a message on their board about that unusual URL:

https://community.norton.com/en/forums/norton-malicious-site-blocked

Do you see where that somehow insinuated itself:

  • moz-extension://fe8e5b66-56d9-6b45-a05f-2dc7f49d8acd/content/ui/blockedPage.html?
  • originalURL=https://mf70e.rdtk.io/5f2a7f84cc769d00016b71e5?
  • sub1=3&sub2=mail.yahoo.com&sub3=1269447&sub4=1483375841823380919&sub5=250&sub6=&sub7=2607467&sub8=5731607&blockPageType=IPS&IpsSignature=31349

That does sound suspicious. Can you go to https://www.yahoo.com/ or does that also get hijacked?

Hi jscher2000,

Yes, I use Norton - that is the source of the warning message. I can go to www.yahoo.com without getting the message. I've tried a few variations and the message appears when I access yahoo mail from my.yahoo.com, not when I access the my.yahoo.com homepage.

Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Do you use a bookmark or are you starting with the main (home) page of this website?

If you use a bookmark to access a specific page then instead navigate to this page starting with the main page or with the sign in page in case there is a problem with this bookmark.
