Task Manager showing six Firefox running. I wonder if this is normal? Please refer screen shot (ignore Japanese). Is there anything I am suppose to do? Thank you.

This is normal due to how firefox breaks up the processes into separate ones -- this prevents you from losing ALL tabs in the event that a tab crashes firefox. Per Wesley in this thread https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1247528 :

You can set the content process limit to between 1 and 8. The default is 4, but you should be able to change this.

Go to the Firefox settings and go to the Performance section. Uncheck the Use recommended performance settings option and there you will find the content process limit setting.

If that content process limit setting appears locked, go to about:config in the Firefox address bar, bypass the warning and change the value of dom.ipc.processCount to anything between 1-8.

Hope this helps.

Hello Eve,

First of all thank you very much for your quick reply.

If it is normal as you have mentioned then I will leave it as it is. Actually it is first time in the Task Manager I saw six Firefox running. I thought by mistake I opened six times (do not laugh).

I will mark your reply "Solved the problem" in a day or two.

Your reply was simple and very clear easy to understand.

Thanks

I am showing anywhere from 3 to 11+ running in task manager with only one tab open. Is this also considered normal? Is it linked to the number of add ons one might be running. Trying to sort out some bugs when I noticed the multiple processes.
