Everything worked great until the recent update. Now, everything fails. I have found several threads on here, showing things to do. Ive cleared cookies and all of the histories. Blocked Windows 10 family app from firewall access. Removed myself from Families app. So family setting shouldnt be an issue, even though i am running Windows 10. Turned back Firefox to Version 68. Reset downloads folder. Changed download folder location. But nothing will allow me to download anything. Every time i try to download a pic or a video, the file comes up as "failed." Im not a computer guru. I have tried all I know how to do and have come up empty. Any way I can fix this? This is hurting my ability to sell my items online. I cant download any pics sent to me, by clients to re-use them in the listings! Please help!

hi, is your device/account somehow protected by windows parental controls?

the problem you're seeing is likely https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1586228 which is currently under investigation...

How does my Windows Parental Controls still block me, if i have unchecked the box that allows the Family APP Settings to not be able to go through my Firewall? I have also removed myself from any family lists, since there is only one account on my computer. Shouldnt that, along with running an older build of Firefox have solved my issues? Kind of confused, here. -RK-

The Windows Parental Controls is a current issue, so I posted that first.

Did you check the links I posted?

Please explain the problem in detail. What happens? What are the exact error message(s) ?

This download manager works separately from the browser. The browser tells it what to download, and off it goes.

http://www.freedownloadmanager.org It is a powerful modern download accelerator and organizer for Windows and Mac.

Yes, i went through the links you posted. Nothing on the links has helped. These are links i have found and tried, previously, before leaving this message on the help forums.

When i open my Yahoo email and try to download a pic that is an attachment on an email, it shows up in the downloads tab as "failed." This has only started to happen, after the last few updates. I know this is a known problem and is being investigated. The same happens with videos i try to download. The standard Firefox downloader (i havent used any plug ins or extensions) will start and open ok. You click on save and it starts to download, just like it always has. It will download the entire file, until it gets to the last few seconds then the downloaded file shows "failed" in the downloads tab. This happens with videos from various different sites online. I have yet to find a site, that I can successfully download from, after the last few updates to Firefox.

I have done all of the things on the link that Dinushi has given. None of it works. The downloads still say, "failed." This happens with fresh installs of Firefox version 68, 69 and 70. I have tried all 3. No luck, thus far. Here is a pic of what the downloads tab says when a file comes up as failed. Nothing shows any blocks? -RK-

Make sure you are not blocking content.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link}

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

One issue that seems more common lately is Firefox's Tracking Protection feature. When it is blocking content in a page, a shield icon will appear at the left end of the address bar next to the padlock icon. This article has more info on managing this feature: Tracking Protection {web link}
