ubuntu firefox 67.0 (64 bit) browser.tabs.warnOnClose not working

Using Firefox 67.0 (64 bit) on Ubuntu MATE 18.04 When closing firefox w/ several tabs open firefox does not prompt w/ a warning (as it did in 66.x.) I checked about:config: all instances of *.tabs.warnOnClose are set to "true", (also "warnOnCloseOtherTabs") yet there is no warning.

Any suggestions gratefully welcomed.
