Why is Mozilla forcing me to go to Chrome? I cannot use Firefox to stream DirecTV Now.

I have used Firefox from the very beginning—well, almost. But over the past year or so a lot of things graphics related simply don't work; or took weeks or months to implement, such as applications requiring Adobe Flash. Now, I have reached the point of changing my default browser to Google Chrome. I really don't have much choice since I have cut the cable-cord, and moved into an area where tall trees block DirecTV satellite signals. Are there any plans in the works at Mozilla to rectify the situation? If so, when? If not, that is so sad.

As I understand you're description, you're saying that DirecTV is using Adobe's flash player.

Flash has proven over the years to have multiple security issues. Adobe is now ending Flash support in 2020.

As a result both Firefox and Chrome are also ending support:

Firefox still allows you to enable flash at this time. You should be able to click on the element and select to enable, or there may be an icon at the left-hand end of the URL bar.

Really, DirecTV should be moving away from using flash to other technologies which are readily available as other companies have already done.

No. You read something into my comment that I never said. I never said that DirecTV uses flash. I was simply using flash as an example of times in the past when various graphics applications worked on Chrome but not Firefox. And there was a time recently when you did not support flash. The problem now is not being able to use Firefox with the streaming service, "DirecTV Now." DirecTV Now states, specifically, that it will not work on Firefox.

Security is nice, but people are going to use whatever allows them access the services they want. Mozilla, I realize, is a not-for-profit organization. But Google, on the other hand, is and will tell everyone that they are now secure as well. My post was not to start an argument; I like Firefox—when I can use it to run applications that I am paying good money for. Mozilla needs to understand this. DirecTV Now is not going to change their product to satisfy Firefox; Firefox needs to do whatever it needs to do.

@BudSloan, so what is the problem with firefox and direcTV? You don't go into details on the exact problem nor provide screen shots of the issue for others to see what is happening.
